A twist on hamburger night

in #charity7 years ago

I like to take traditional meals and make something slightly different from it

One night I got tired of the same old same old so I decided to do something different and I came up with this.
I call them Cheeseburger and Mushroom Burger Pockets. I think it is one of the better ideas I have came up with, as they are really good. It is a hit with the kids so that is a plus too. I serve them with fries on the side

Ingredients

2 cans of Crescent rolls (you can also make homemade ones, I will include the recipe for homemade ones at the end of this post.)
1 pound of Hamburger season to taste (I use a mixture of a Garlic Pepper grinder in mine)
cheese slices (American for the cheeseburger one and Swiss for the mushroom swiss)
mushrooms
Your choice of condiments

Prepare the Crescent rolls take two triangles and make a rectangle pinching the edges. repeat you should have now have 8 rectangles, set aside
Brown hamburger in skillet till pink is cooked away, drain grease.
Sauteed the mushrooms

Preheat over to 375 degrees

Lay 4 of the rectangles on a cookie sheet
fold cheese in half and separate and lay the cheese on the dough leaving enough of the edges of the dough uncovered to allow pinching together of the top half.
If having the mushroom and swiss put mushrooms on the cheese
Lay crumbled ground beef on top of the cheese and or mushrooms
Add Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, pickle or what ever else you like
Place a rectangle dough over each one and pinch the sides and top together.

Cook at 375 degrees for 11-13 minutes

Here is a screen shot of the crescent roll recipe I use.

All the sbd made from this post and account will be donated to @schoolforsdg4 for their food program. I have big plans to not only eventually meet the food needs of the school, I also want to expand this to other programs that feed the most needy in the world by providing value to the community sharing recipes, cooking tips and tricks and once I get moved and settled in to our new place a cooking Vlog. So please also give this page a follow. Your upvote may be small but a bunch of small votes make big things happen, like feeding children this community provided those apples those girls are eating, no child should go hungry and though I know I won't be able to feed the whole world on this account, feeding this school and maybe others in the future is a good enough start for me.
