We all somehow always want to help them, give them a helping hand, solve a problem, or help them in the way of life.
But there is something that goes beyond good intentions, beyond hearts willing to help, and this is to dignify the poor and needy.
The word dignify comes from dignity that means, honorable place or elevation range.
Dignifying the needy means giving him the honorable place as God's creation, it has to do with showing him that he has abilities and gifts and that he is able to overcome all the needs that may be going on with God's hand.
If we do not dignify the needy we make him dependent on what we can give him and on ourselves, we make him dependent on the bread, but our main task is to restore their dignity by teaching them to make the bread for themselves, to have private property and to allow them to see that they were created unique in the image and likeness of God.
