I see what you mean. Maybe it's because I am an ABSOLUTE novice to Steemit, and so far I've seen tech-heavy analysis or marketing and really silly blogging. One is opaque to me (my fault for being ignorant) and the other is just trite. I rationally see the value in the platform as meaningful and a legitimate marketplace of content and ideas, but the valid social Darwinism here feels like it could be overshadowed by uselessness. I hate to see such a good idea devalued by a flood of people posting pictures of a plant they saw one time or their food. I guess I need to get further into the mechanism behind it all and watch the attrition if the useless posts.
