Every Boss On Steemit Started as a Minnow ~ Charles Fuchs
One of the most important questions on Steemit, Does Steem Power Matter? π€
Here is a short story what happened to me when I first started on Steemit a few months ago... I will try to keep this short as we are all busy people π
In the beginning I wanted to come on this platform with "guns blazing" and get known by the community as fast as possible... after a few days in, I was like damn this is hard.
Before I really got started, I wanted to see what all the successful people were doing on Steemit and why they were such an "influencer".Β
I instantly tried to reached out to dolphins and whales (didn't even know what π¬π meant at the time) but I learned really fast that it's not an easy task to do, especially for a person who just came to Steemit.
Through some research, I connected with a few Dolphins on Facebook and had long conversations with them (not saying their names π). They all told me the same thing, if you want to be a BOSS on Steemit... you have to "GET STEEM POWER" and lots of it!
First I was confused and wondered why... they explained that people are attracted to Steemians with tons of SP because they have the influence to upvote your posts in a big way and if you want to "Blow Up" really fast, you need SP as a type of influence.
So I just said to myself, you know what... they are sooo right. So I started with 500 SP and kept "Stackin" Steem Power since then like Floyd Mayweather does with money π€£
To conclude with this, you can start Steemit the easy way or can do it the hard way. Don't get me wrong, there are several Steemians who never bought any Steem Power but they grinded hard for almost a year to get well known by the Steemit Community. π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦
If you want to do it "The Fast Lane" way, you must accumulate or buy Steem Power if you want people to know who you are faster. π
Once you get enough steem power (5000+), you will start getting more followers, higher upvotes, and tons of comments etc etc...Β
So in my opinion, Start "STACKIN" as much Steem Power ASAP before it gets harder to accumulate them as the price of Steem will rise down the road. π
If you think Steem it expensive now, wait til' when it's pushing over $10+ in 2018. Many will regret it that they didn't take action earlier and start kicking themselves in the a** π
Hope this little story changed your mindset a little and helped you out on how you can become a Boss on Steemit...
Have an awesome Wednesday and like always, Keep On Stackin! π

Steem Power really is the supercharger to your whole presence here. It gives you that "remora" affect, where the little fish want to stick to you and that helps you create a core to start rolling up to a critical mass of support. Once you get there, you can rely on your regular supporters to trust in much of your content. They'll start to vote on each of your articles because of the self-fulfilling prophecy that each will do well.
I've seen the difference on both sides. I joined right around when you did @stackin, and I was doing work in the comments right around the same time you were. You had the benefit of actually being someone recognizable and having some sort of audience coming in. I compensated by working at it 18 hours a day and buying some 40,000 SP that I actually couldn't afford.
This worked well for awhile and helped me get supercharged, but a contract fell-through I thought was a lock to bring me a big payday. I was lucky that I had already secured a back-up option, and had a close friend with cash willing to invest so I did not need to sell. However, I was forced to delegate my stake away and I am only now reclaiming it this week. I look forward to having that several-dollar upvote power back.
Apologies for failing to comment on your posts lately, I've been busy with trying to create content and several minnow-helping initiatives. I can see that your posts are certainly doing well now! I can also see that, like me, you leave no comment behind. It sure gets exhausting, doesn't it?
No big deal boss, we all get busy at times and I miss tons of comments lol
Now your going to get tons of your power back in a few weeks ππΌ
I like that remora effect and that is sooo true and it gets tiresome at times commenting however but it's so worth it. π
So true. I can second that from my own experience.
A lot of SP make it much more easy for yourself while you are able to help a lot of other steemians.
It is a total win-win situation.
Full 100% and resteemed ;-)
All I need to do now is get to your big levels :)
For those of us who have no money to invest - what do you think of leasing sp? I just leased 375 sp for 4 weeks for 10 STEEM. This brought me to a 0.06 upvote from 0.01 where I was for 8 weeks. The amount of 0.06 amount is actually noticed here it seems since such a large number of people vote with 0.01 or less.
I'm thinking this is a good way to boost sp in the beginning - after 5000 sp it seems like it is not cost effective. If I curate well, it should snowball in my mind, but I would love to know your opinion and experience.
Buying and delegationare both good, that's how I got started π
That's good to know. It seems like not everyone is in favor of delegation here, but I'm really glad I did it and will keep doing it for the near future.
Was meinst du?
Haha. Sehr gerne mein lieber.
YES! :)
Nice stackin! Mixed strategy with buying and leasing is probably best imho. Yes, I'll keep on stacking until I become a big dangerous orca!
50k Steem Orca Style... that's the type of attitude I like :)
Stack and repeat !
Simple, love it lol
Stay Super Stackin and Be a Big Boss Boyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
Nice point.
What's up @happmoneyman ... give me a few months, I need to catch up to your STACKS :)
You're right on though. Stacks make em notice.
BE A BOSS :)
Big happy boss ballin
ππΌππΌππΌ
I agree 100%, the more steem power the better....
Those Emoji pics are awesome, I use them all the time! I believe haha
I Believe!
just waiting when it pushes $10π π
bit by bit .. collecting STEEM :D
All I know is that every 1 steem I get now will be like 10+ down the road :)
π€ π€ π€ :)
I would like to see it at $10!
Damn bro, stacked it on this one!
Super true about the steem power. It's really key. Learned that about a month ago and super happy I listened to my gut.
Great info man!
You the man boss, Insee you making big moves already on steemit!
A brief glance will tell anyone that steem power is the most important stat around here. Power=Influence.
I want to start stacking as much steem power as possible as quickly as possible. But I still dont want to just buy into it at all.
Your right, check out all my blog posts from three months, I document everything and preached about dollar cost averaging per week or per month, hope this helps π
You've read my previous reply to you before I could delete, just disregard it. I sent a whole sentence but only one word came through.
Thank you for replying, I'd look into your post history.
Good job brother. You're killing it. Keep up your pace. Live up to that hustle.
Talk soon.
You the man! Your doing awesome bro! Your going to hit dolphin in no time at all π
Haha well thanks for your kind words brother. How do you know I am not already a whale on a 2nd account? ;)
Talk soon.
I agree, but I guess at this point people are torn between committing to STEEM POWER and just investing their BTC with other Coins such as LTC ( which has LN in progress ) or STEEM which never seems to go higher than $2 Even if we've got so much going for us, regarding community participation and innovation.
Steem needs to stabilize, with all that's happened to Steem I'm baffled as to why it still priced this low. I get that its never going to be as high as LTC or BTC but reallllly ? Stuck at $1.xx with all these improvements and close to 10% annual growth? We should be within $10ish by now and not like SCAMMY coins ranked high in the top 50 in Coinmarketcap.
I hear ya, I'm invested in lots of tokens already including steem. Check out the price today, making moves π
Hopefully it continuous to stabilize. Not even moon, just be stable and not get much affected with external forces would make me happy..
Slowly I am increasing my Steem. I did use some fiat to buy some a couple weeks back. I hope the price of Steem will take a drop so I can get some more then up up and away.
I think I made the price of steem skyrocket today π€π€£
it is for sure on an upward swing
Yeah lets be a big boss.
Full 100% and resteemed :-)
Whoooowhoooo!! The best people in town just showed up π
Great post mate. As an Aussie with little in the way of technological expertise I'm completely new to blogging and crypto and especially the way Steemit operates. I stick around though, not because of the upvotes and whatever as I can't ever see this being my day job, but because I really like when I get to interact with REAL people and not just see a wall of selfies and the bombardment of desperate people trying to get 'likes' and 'comments' and 'subscribers'.
I only discovered your posts a day or two ago and it's already been very helpful. I've talked to my wife about investing in maybe 3 or 4 different crypto currencies and I believe Steem will be one of those I choose. This place can be very cool to see how other people live around the world and outside the immediate "Facebook bubble".
Just one problem I see is how to grow when your posts aren't about Steemit or crypto? I don't know enough about these subjects so I feel like my posts often go unnoticed. I try to post interesting content but yeah seems like unless it's Steemit, crypto or maybe travel related it gets quickly pushed out amongst the crowd. Any tips would really be great.
Thanks again for your informative posts and helping newbies. I hope you end up very successful at whatever your life goals are βοΈβοΈ
My advice is to alter your posts in the beginning to go along with daily challenges. The thumbnail and the first photo need to go along with the theme - such as BeachWednesday. Your text and other photos can be about anything. @kalemandra does daily color challenges and @uwelang always has a long list of what challenges are going on in any challenge post he publishes.
At least you get eyeballs with the challenges and can get part of your message out. i make more on those than any regular post I do.
Next - contests and giveaways are good to post in if they ask for links. I get all kinds of response on those because the person doing the contest is happy to talk to people who enter
I'm giving up and writing about steemit though in my next few posts :)
Wow, great comment!
Thanks @spaceginger! I see lots of people have a hard time producing content. The easy way is to document instead of creating. Talk about anything, like your interests, the things you like... heck even put up blogs about the food you enjoy. I would treat it like a social media website and post whatever you want.
Hope that helps, thanks for commenting @spaceginger :)
Your Aussie Autos posts are a nice look at cars where you live so that's a series I wouldn't mind seeing more of. There's an Instagram I follow which features high quality photos of high end cars in Zurich Switzerland. I'd love to see something similar on SteemIt for various cities around the world. Cars, motorcycles, mountain bikes etc.
You could also post about attractions in your area or things to do as a resource for travelers.
Starter Stackin Big time, its almost a compounding effect once you start hitting some higher SP. Keep grinding and stackin!
Goal is 10k steem in a few months and help everyone get there πͺπΌππΌπ―
Sage advice @stackin ... keep on the grind... i'm closing in on 5k SP and not stopping!!!
I see you fellow Boss, you'll get there easy π
Great post @stackin. I figure out too that stacking sp is the best way to go.... Steem may never come around again once it zooms from here.
Dang, we just had a huge price increase just now βΊοΈ
Take action now or else steem like bitcoin will hit a ridiculous high number and some how you'll get looped in to paying for a vacation for two of your favorites π. Preach it stackin!!
Let's all get tons of Steem by next year and then I don't have to pay haha
Thanks, @stackin! Great post, helpful, concise and I couldn't agree more. I could see right away with Steemit that Steem Power was the way to go.
I'm still just a humble minnow for now, but I'm creating as much valuable content as I can and investing as much money as I can. I'm really excited about the possibilities and the future of Steemit.
Between my wife, @carrieallen, and myself, we almost make a dolphin now. Not bad for a couple who's never even had a savings account.
By the way, I love your title on this post. :)
I like what you and @carrieallen are doing on Steemit! Las Vegas has tons of dispensaries now by the way haha
You guys will have my support from now on :)
Thank you so much! We've followed you too (obviously).
I've heard about Vegas. π Didn't they make it 'kinda' legal, advertise to tourists and then make a law the tourists can only smoke in 'homes'? I guess it's a way to make a buck. π€
Have cannabis B&Bs popped up yet? I'd guess that'd be where the locals could make bank. Offering tourists a place to toke up.
Thanks for the great content (in this post and those to come)! π
I have no idea with the laws here haha... it's just ok to have but so far I think at homes only but it will change.
I'm from Colorado so I'm already use to it for decades haha
Your advice never falls short @stackin
We arrived at the same time and your rise has been meteoric, if newbies want an example of how to succeed here there is no better example than you dude.
Steem on bro.
Thanks Bossman! I try to keep it simple for everyone π¬
Great advice, thanks! Start accumulate SP rather than Steem and SBD.
Totally Agree!! Steem Power Rules :)
Thanks @stackin!
Awesome post, you are a huge value to this community.
I'm putting in the work haha
Stacks on stacks , I feel like if we want to be on a level of "boss" Steem power plays a big role . Plus it sure attracts eyes
All I know you will be there at the end of the year, Should I start calling you Bosslady now? lol
Let's wait for it :D π₯
I just bought 100 steem and converted to Steem power. Been here for over 1 year and this is the first time that I bought steem. Since I am already spending so much time and effort at Steemit, why not boost it by buying Steem or SP. After reading your post, I know that I am heading in the right direction.
To grow at Steemit, we must also contribute to Steemit.
Steemians Ask Not What Steemit Can Do For You But What You Can Do For Steemit
You just hit the nail on the head @positivesteem!
This is the post where I write about my purchase of Steem
Kuching Update
First Steemit Meeetup In Kuching And Other Firsts For Me
"KEEP ON STACKIN"!
Always πͺπΌππΌπ―
Mo money mo money no money!!! STEEM POWA
STACKIN haha... be safe in Florida this weekend @road2wisdom :)
Thank you :0)
Hi @stakin,
You changed my mind indeed (or more precisely, my mind was changed already and you fixed it)
The only issue I am having is that I am not able to buy SP say with credit card or paypal for example. I am new to the crypto world and I don't have any BTC or other cryptos to pay for SP. Also BTC is super expensive now. So How would you do it if you were in my shoes?
Many thanks for sharing your story :)
By the way, are you considered a dolphin now? What makes a dolphin, dolphin and a whale, whale?
Hi ,sorry for intrude your question.
But i think you can buy SP with some other cryptos besides BTC,Steem and SBD.
You can use USDT which is 1 to 1 with USD,and popular cryptos like Ethereum,Llitecoin,Dash and Dogecoin.
Also, you dont need to buy a full coin to be able to trade for SP,buy the one with less tax and with it buy some SP :)
Or even use BlockTrades Labor for USD directly, dont know how it works exactly as never used, but its an option.
Hope it helps,have a nice day! :)
Hi @gambit.coin, No intrusion at all.
Actually thank you very much for your reply. It is very helpful for me since I am new to the crypto world.
I will have something to look into now and try to invest in myself and in steemit.
Thanks again for reading my comment and for replying to it :D
5000 steem power is considered to be a mini dolphin lol... I know where you are coming from, the best thing about steem is that if you can afford it, you have to resourceful.
For example buy $10 a week of steem and do it every week, in a short period of time you will accumulate a lot but if you want to be a boss you gotta find a way and just jump in π
Thanks for the advice :)
I am too far from 5000 sp but i think i can make that.
Make it a goal to hit it by December ππΌπ―
Your right, But I have to say i'm not 100% fond of this aspect of the system. Because anyone can buy their way into being a whale. Some do and have shit content, only upvote their friends with equally shit content.
I do love steem and see a future for it. I see my steem as savings I would probably not saved otherwise regardless of up or down price fluctuations.
But its far too easy to skip to the head of the line simply because you have more wealth than another person. I think of people living in poor regions where steemit could literally change their lives, and it does. But it also sadly fails them too. Its easy to stack when you have food and housing. I want to see Steemit make poor people with less opportunities find a voice not rich kids wanting to become the king of social media and does so by doing nothing. There needs to be more incentive for whales to help minnows. Many do don't get me wrong. But this could be so much better.
Is facebook ads better? You pay for money to get likes and comments also. π
there are two sides to this, on the one hand you are right, on the other hand its a bit like cheating, there is something to be said for earning it through graft and there is no buying what you would learn doing it this way but on the other hand fast tracking into the fast lane also has its merits
Interesting... but isn't facebook advertising cheating too? π€π
I've only been on steemit for a couple of weeks and I'm already seeing the great potential it has. I'm definitely gonna try STACKIN my power
You'll do great, just keep on stackin π€
Thanks, hopefully soon i'll have stacked as much as you
You need the power.
Great post BTW. I am defiantly going to start to stack my account and I really hope that I can grow a bit before it becomes too hard.
Grown it weekly and overtime you'll be stackin tons π
that is a very well said. it is needed to get noticed with higher SP.
to get that 5000+ SP, I have to works for almost 25 months to buy that, our montly salary even below $USD 200.
ππππ
I would try to earn it by posting and building a loyal following. You can do it :)
So from how much Steem Power on does it become 'useful'? 5000 SP sounds amazing, but that's quite a lot of money that not all that many people will be able to afford!
Right now I'm at some 30 SP and another 30 delegated. Wondering wether 100SP will make a difference, or maybe 500, or wether that still will be too little?
I would start with 500, that's how I got started. With 500, you also can get a vote slider and build some momentum πππΌ
That's the one blessing/curse of the Proof of Stake cryptocurrencies. They follow the age old adage that "The rich get richer".
Those who can purchase their stake can reap the rewards.
I am definitely not complaining, but PoS takes a lot of the Satoshi attitude out of cryptos.
I don't think it's really a problem, the ones who get the coins from forging did invest in the currency, and therefore they deserve to get the rewards as they bear the risk. On the other hand, PoW also let the big miners win and reap the rewards.
Very true.
Perfect answer! I think I made the price of steem skyrocket today jk ππ
Excellent guidelines for new members, I was also confused but after reading this article, many points have been cleared. Big steam power big reward.
Thanks for guidance, upvoted & Resteemed.
Current position of steem.
Keeping it easy and simple for everyone π
Hello @stackin, steempower is crucial to growth, I want to learn the platform by engaging with others and learning as much as I can. Everyone needs to not forget that Steemit is still in Beta, so grind while it's still possible c: I'm under two months in, and it can be challenging often, but challenges help people grow! Thank you for that extra bit of motivation.
@shello
Best comment of the day right here! πͺπΌππΌπ―
Thanks fam, no struggles only hustles
This was very informative. You were clear in explaining the concepts to the users of our platform.
You the man @firepower, my role model on steemit π
Have been wondering about this recently - building STEEM slowly versus just buying a bunch more. This post has pushed me towards the latter, thanks!
Cheers,
Holbein81
Boom, motivating the masses to be a boss lol
Haha - will be doubling up tomorrow, then probably to ~8k over the next month or so. I am fortunate to be able to do so.
Based on current performance I think I have a way to go to reach 'boss' level ;-)
Cheers
That's how you make boss moves π
Point through: before "stacking" comes "networking" and that last bit definitely ensures some form and amount of manipulation ;)
Haha, just start stackin people lol
Thats why i always use 100% towards SP at least until i have 1000SP
Give me some of that jk π€£π
You have described a similar scenario i was in here.
I did post 3 articles and all earned in total $0.57!!!!
I paused and went undercover to study more about the community and how everything works.
After one month being undercover,i learned about the community and i went on a commenting spree and i also made a post that earned me $6.
I am now looking for ways to add Steem Power and be a boss.
By end of next year i will be a boss too!
Love that motivation, can't stop and won't Stop attitude π
Be a boss- I like that! I'm new here, but listening and learning. πβοΈ Thanks!!
Let's all become bosses! π
5 minutes ago I wondered which people invest money for steempower. But your arguments sound good. Lets invest money;-)
If it's just a little a week it's fine, it all adds up at the end of the day π
Keep on stackin Fuchster, great post again. Thanks!!!
I need to step up my stackin game π€£
Same here π
Really difficult to staking much steem power at start, that's why i suggest all minnows/newbie here to buy some steem and take a little boost at the start!
Yes! Started at 500 steem at first few days in then t was a slow build but well worth it to get that boost ππΌ
Well said @stackin this is exactly what I been doing and glad to see there are more doing the same I am over the halfway mark to becoming a dolphin I still got a long way to go.
Awwwwmannn, you got this. I see dolphin status for ya in a few months! π
You got me man with: "If you think Steem it expensive now, wait til' when it's pushing over $10+ in 2018."
Time to buy, and grow up my Steem power.
Great post mate :p
Check out the price today, boom! π¬
You have no idea how I needed to read a post like this now! With all my love and enthusiasm I came here with , now after 3 weeks in I've got that 'damn this is hard' feeling! ... so you came in just in timeππ
Was great to read your post!
Upvoted and following you, of course!
You are the best @cooknbake... it was tuff but the more you do it, its gets a little easier. I was never a blogger but I enjoy it now :)
