It's an early morning in Las Vegas and recently it's getting harder and harder to stay asleep with all the action thats happening with the Crypto markets the last few months. 😴
While looking at the charts for some good crypto deals, something made me ask myself about the price of Steem Dollars (SBD). 📈
Since November 21st 2017, we've seen the price of SBD rise from it's peg of $1 trending between $2-$14. The current price of SBD is $4.52 as I write this. 💸
The one good thing about having a high SBD, it's benefitting all the authors that are posting each day. With it's current price, authors are making 4x more on posts than usual. 👨🏼💻
There's is a lot of speculation of why SBD has been rising, all the way from foreign investors buying them on exchanges (not knowing what it is) to all the way from people using tons of SBD for voting bots. Til' this day, it's still a mystery. 🤷🏼♂️
How long will the Steem Dollar be at these prices? Who knows but I believe that it can't last forever. So in the meantime, do whatever you can to take advantage of this opportunity.
There are lots of new people that recently joined Steemit and I recommend that they start powering up instead of taking profits because it will be so much harder for them to accumulate Steem down the road; unless they are willing to pay for it. 💲
It's ok to take profits here and there but for people with less than 1000, 2000 or even 10,000 should at least power up half there SBD. 📊
There will be many people months from now kicking themselves in the ass that they didn't "Buy Steem" with there Steem Dollars. I don't think many "newbies 👶🏼" know hard it was to accumulate Steem by just posting content when Steem and SBD was just a $1.
Currently it's great times for all the authors on Steemit as many of us are making way more than ever before on Steemit since the rise of Steem Dollars. So in other words, start getting real active and post awesome content right now while the iron is hot. ♨️

I think that SBD will continue to do well and it would make sense that it will actually rise further if Binance adds it along with STEEM.
I'm pretty sure it would just make sense for Binance to add the Steem Backed Dollar, so expect a super pump to follow if or when they do!
Lets just hope that actually happens!

I think the only reason why SBD is not yet on its way back to $1 despite the high inflation rate is that it is easy to pump.
I'm always happy when SBD goes up, but I don't forget the high inflation rate of SBD.

I have no money to invest here. I feel like my blog posts are a "mining" tool for sbd and steem and try to post 2-4 times each day. I also spend a lot of time commenting where I get rewarded at times by the post authors.
This is the only way I can enter the crypto space and I am so happy steemit has done this for me. I try to "ignore" the price since there is not one thing I can do about it. So far, this is the most I have have been paid for my work in 8 years of doing it, so I am very grateful to be here.
This is a story that should be shared more often, and I really hope you make it far here on Steemit, and in the content creation community as well.

I think of all my friends, and then I think about how lazy they all are, and then I'm like: Well, I'll tell them about Steemit, and if they join they join.
I have a few sticking it out - most gave up after a week or never posted after getting the account. At least they are set up for future.

I think SBD could stay above $1 quite easy if the bidbots and other services stay around and continue scaling up, because that's about the only reason people sell steem for SBD.

Absolutely correct. It takes a long time to amass any SP when the SBD is a dollar. People right now are getting paid 2-3 times what the normal payout would be. This is a huge bonus for authors.
Couple that with the fact that there are going to be a lot more authors on here down the road, meaning the reward pool will be spread over more people, and I foresee a day when 500 SP is considered a huge amount.
Powering up is the only way to go for now (if one can afford it).

Is not easy to power up if we focus on the number of Dollars one can get from 1 SBD when one have alot of expenses to incure but all the same the wise will keep powering up for rainy days
It's harder to earn than it used to be. My rate of income has slowed, but I'm still powering up. I'd like to see SBD go back to $1 so people use it as intended, to buy stuff. We have benefited from the high price financially, but I don't think it's sustainable
You are right here. There are many merchants that are scared due to the price that is not stable. Even as regards the rewards, many authors find it difficult to even earn from their posts as many prefer to upvote themselves rather than share it with other steemians due to the high rate of SBD. Though it is wise to power up

This is a very strange phenomenon, as you can see on SBD chart the biggest SBD jump was on 22 May 2017, the price per SBD jumped to 22$, I think that was just a simple investment from some whales to see how they can interfere with the SBD price. You are wondering why did they do that, well I think they do that because once you increase the price of SBD the Steem price will follow for sure, because a lot of people will be trading SBD for Steem in the internal Steemit market which will result in increased Steem value, they do that because they already have a ton of Steem and with 1$ current price its not much, but if they can increase it to 3-4 their profit will triple. I don't see SBD price will get back to 1$ soon, I think we may see a long term price hold from 4-6$ per SBD, depending on current market cap and crypto dips.

SBD is tantamount to continue doing well only some factors may undermine this, for example, investing into the coin may continue make it booming and also if more people continue to take it into coignisance and recognise it as a potential

Excellent post well i think it's just a matter of time when peoples know about sbd us just an internal currency peg with US$ and then i am sure all momentum will be shifted back to steem, so i agree buying sbd with steem now is a wise decision and it will pay off soon.

Haven't withdrawn once yet, and every day I keep 'STACKIN" my SBD & Steem into Steem Power. I do believe it'll get harder and harder to accumulate and luckily we're already here beating 90% of people to this wicked platform.

That is great advice. I've honestly used quite a bit of the funds from my SBD to buy other coins (BTS, EOS and a few others) and have saved a little bit of it for trading for STEEM and power ups. I need start accumulating STEEM power again like I was back in the fall when STEEM was only a dollar and I was buying 200 or more STEEM / week and powering it all up and taking the 100% option on my payouts. I guess I got complacent when I hit about 5K steem power. That complacency needs to end.
I have noticed it is getting harder to earn steem power because the rewards are misbalanced but like you said, there is a fix, just do the 50/50, trade those SBD for STEEM and power it up.
I have 6100 now and I'd like to have 10K by the end of the year if not sooner. And yeah I don't know how long this gravy train will last as the supply of SBD has increased over 5 fold to my knowledge and I think it's an attempt to get the SBD back to its intended peg, but it's taking awhile...
On a separate note, do you live in Vegas? I'm out there about once a year to visit my Dad and Step-Mom...

As a newbie that was a fascinating read. I din't actually think about the fact that it could get harder to buy STEEM if the price came down.
Luckily I have been using every single bit of my earnings to power up as I am in this for the long haul and want to invest now and also use it to help other musicians that I am bringing on to the platform.

That’s what I did for 6 months on Steemit when I first started, I put everything back into buying Steem. I do take profits here and there after I did that, it was a great decision to powerup in those months 😀
I will hit 500 today so I believe that means I can choose how much to allocate to a resteem. As we have a growing network of musicians I can now spread the love!
So I am recommending that everyone who I invite here tries to aim for that at least so we can all help each other.
Yeah it's really great for authors when everyone is earning way more than usual. I think it's also great for making Steemit more popular, because the rewards are definitely attractive to everyone and more people are joining in because of that.

This being said I believe that SBD has to be given even more of a usecase e.g. being adopted as a real currency to pay with. A good example for that is already #steembay. The more it will be adopted the more likely we will have a strong SBD above 1$ ...

The best way to convert to Steem is the internal market, right? I mean if you sell for a profit and then decide to buy Steem dollars to convert to Steem you will have to pay the high prices. Is there any other way?
I have never used Block Trades and want to keep my SD in Steemit. I have bought steem when it was REALLY low internally on the market but and wondering about any other way of converting to steem.
I compare the internal market to Blocktrades each time before I trade. So far, the market has always been the best rate - over every single trade I have done.

The best way to convert SBD to Steem is the internal markets. You can send SBD to an exchange like Bittrex if you want and then Buy Steem. You can use blocktrades also :)

I second you should be powering up everything you earn right now. Who knows how long the getting is going to be good around here but these are massive rewards happening right now with SBD. For myself I power up or reinvest 100% of everything I earn on here in some way. I don't plan on cashing out for a good while say the 50k Steem power mark . Keep STACKIN!

My plan is to power up everything, but the little SBD that I have right now I had planned on keeping for a few days and change it to STEEM all at once. However, now I've decided to make regular exchanges, just in case the price of SBD drops (to more sustainable levels).

i missed the time i heard that sbd rose upto 14 $ in decemeber and i joined in january. I think that hight price is good for everyone but still witnesses want to enforce it 1$.
Yeah, it was for a few days but lots sold daily when it was rising to $2 then $4 then $6 etc... etc... so lots of people didn't have lots of SBD when it hit $14 unless they got it that day :)

Charles @stackin I agree with you on Powering UP the SBD's to STEEM POWER. I just want to throw in my two cents on using the BOT's with SBD if you really do the math I would say a lot of the BOT purchases are not that great a deal. Maybe I am wrong about that but I don't think so.
Take this with a grain of salt but imo the next SBD pump will make the last one in December look like a joke.
There is a Tech youtuber that licks a gpu when he gets donations and I’ve talked to him a few times about joining up on Steem but he claims it’s a waste of time and just like all the sites that try to compete with YouTube or Facebook, will fail. I’ll keep trying because I believe in the platform and actually paid for all my steem, but it may just take steem existing and continuing to thrive for the holdouts youtubers to join. Then again, maybe he just doesn’t like money? Lol

From the look of things, steem dollar rises as the price of bitcoin rises so why should we think it will fall someday what the price of bitcoin keeps rising. And as far as I am concerned , the increase in the price of steem dollar pays this platform Moe because if steem goes way up and steem dollar way down, people might just have to leave steemit as it will just favour those with enough cash to buy steem which as it stands, many who come on steemit done have.
So I just pray this lasts forever...
