Surround yourself with people who provide you with support and love and remember to give back as much as you can in return. ~ Karen Kain
Do you believe what people say or do you believe what they do? Anyone can say they do something but in reality they do the opposite. That is the reason why I always look for people who "Do" instead what they "Say".Β
You heard the saying "Documentation Always Beats Out Conversation" so today let me "Bust Out" one of my best stats that I earned on Steemit. I upvoted over 11,157+ Post and Comments! π²
My vote tends to have some substance... depending on price the of steem, delegation, voting power etc etc... my "Upvote" can be anywhere from .04 - $6 per vote. π€
You can check everyone's stats (including yourself) by going to Steemitboard.com.
There are so many people on Steemit saying that they support people and their followers but I don't find that to be true at all... it other words, I wasn't surprised at all.Β
Let me explain... there are tons of influencers on Steemit that posts between 2-5 times a day with tons of upvotes and comments and I realized early on that they don't ever comment back and rarely ever upvote anyone (just themselves). π
Do you really want steemit to become similar to Youtube where you see people with thousands of followers with hundreds of comments and they don't interaction with their audience? It's like people talking to themselves. π€£Β
I've been seeing this a lot on Steemit... people with hundreds of upvotes a day and if you check their stats, they hardly ever comment back or even upvote anyone. π§
Why is this happening? Why are people still doing this? All they do is upvote the same influencers and comment to these people with no interaction at all.
Well you see, most people tend to get attracted to people with a huge influence or following (Ex: Celebrities, Actors, Athletes, etc etc)...Β
Check out The Kardashian's, they gets millions of likes and comments but never engages with their audience... Β So on Steemit, it's simple psychology... many will think if they keep commenting or upvoting these people... then maybe one of these days they will recognize by them but the truth is that never happens.
I'm not saying don't support the people you like... but does it get weird to keep commenting everyday without ever getting a response back at all, that is just a complete waste of time. β°
I'm the total opposite of that, I love to engage with my followers and support them... I don't want to be like one of these so called "influencers" that only cares for themselves, without the people... they are nothing.Β
So I would like to conclude with this, have some self-awareness. πββοΈ
Start finding people that do engage with the community and especially find people that support you... it's better than wasting your time commenting on peoples blogs if you know they won't respond back... it's like talking to a wall. π΄
Have An Awesome Friday Steemians π
Totally agreed Charles, especially with the YouTube analogy. This is a community, interaction with followers is key. Upvoting their comments makes them feel special and also, it is a good way to let them know you are grateful for their support!
Just checked out your blog, it's really good. I'm going to support you from now on, just cause it's hard to find like minded individuals ππΌππΌ
Ha, funny. I was just on your post and then here you are again - spreading the love! Have I ever told you, I love reading your posts? I am on here as RumDancer and as PrudishNudist and you are followed on both. You have a great message!
Now I have to support both of your blogs! ππͺπΌππΌπ―
Thanks a lot buddy, you are awesome! Hope to interact with you on my posts sometimes :)
Nicely said! π
You've got one more new follower now :)
Thank you very much!
I'm new to Steemit, but your post inspired me ! It's true that the more someone is popular, the less you see this person interacting with the community.
Which is stupid, because it's thank to those people that they are now popular ! Youtube has become a jungle for that.
I hope it is different on Steemit :) The people here seem very nice !
Welcome to steemit @mitsunyah! Let make social media get again lol
You hit the nail, Charles!
Thanks for being such a positive role model.
Upvoted and resteemed π
I have mad respect for you @surfermarley... I'm just following in your footsteps!
Haha that was cute π You in my footsteps?
I thought it was rather the other way around...π²
Keep the good vibes comin', we're all here to follow and support your example!
Happy weekend!
Good point Charles (my name sake) hence why I decided to gradually correct the error I made when I joined on June this year. I actually focus my attention on those who at least respect me by responding to my comment. I post 3 times a week (max ) in order to have the time to respond to all comments and try to show back the love. In business, you lose all if you dont follow up...
So right, I post daily... it's not that hard for people to respond at least. It takes just a few minutes in a day. :)
I agree buddy, good point indeed.
Do you use bogs , and what is your opinion about bots ? feel free to see my latest post about the subject and send in your comment. I wish you more success and hope that we stay in touch. Happy weekend.
It's good when everyone interacts with each other. Good for the community, but, in regards to youtube. I understand how youtubers with big following can't reply on every single comments.
Just imagine yourself having to read 2000+ comments, in a day. It's different if they are only getting hundred comments a week. I guess that is doable.
I follow this guy on youtube, wil dasovich, I used to comment all the time and he replies most of the time. Since he reached 200,000 subs, his replies dwindled.
So I stopped commenting on his videos, directly. When I do, I don't actually direct the comment towards Wil, but to the people that follow his videos.
There are fan boys/girls who are still vying for his attention. Saying like "Hello, Wil." "Love you Wil", "How come you are in Pasig today Wil?"
Seriously, I doubt he will read every single comment. If he does comment, i'm sure the fan gets all ecstatic .
I would like to see Steemit being like youtube someday and our small investments now will turn to millions in the future.
And with more people like you with big influence that cares for his audience, it will be achievable. Thanks for your work. Followed.
You are totally right on that.... If i get over 100 or even 200 comments, i still replay to 90% of them! It just takes a little time to appreciate the followers. :)
That's the truth! Steemit loses a lot of its appeal if it just turns into a bunch of small cliques circle-voting themselves every day.
I try to find new interesting users to follow or upvote every day. It's not always as easy as I want, but sometimes there's a ton of cool new stuff to find just by browsing the "hot" pages and stuff like that.
Well said!
You are totally right @heymattsokol ... go to the hot wall right now, and check those people out. Tons of comments and the person who blogged it, don't even comment or upvote them back. Should I blame the content creator or the sheeps... ummmm I blame both parties lol
Checking mine out right now i'm curious and awesome job providing quality upvotes back to the community! Love following you and upvoting your comments and posts. I was curious where did you get those sweet icons in your sig such as 5000 + SP 2,500 Followers etc ? Thanks Stacking and I hope you have yourself a great weekend
Thanks @bitcoinflood! Just making the community aware. Those Icons can be found easy on steemit, go to the search and put in "badges". Lots were made by awesome people that you can use for free.
Thank you!
i try to do the same too! one vote means a lot to me. its all support to getting rep and an incentive for better content.
Great way to look at it ππΌ
Congrats Charles! : D Wow, how do you find the time to post 11k+?! I have trouble keeping up with just a few comments here, mainly because the system is slow!
When I was getting millions of views and thousands of comments to my YouTube channel, I always tried to respond back to comments. Even the lousy ones.
You understand the power of authentic engagement with your audience. Not everyone does or even wants to - they want and benefit from a one-sided dialogue.
As for Steemit, it seems to me that there's an established group here that likes how the system has been working for them (so far) and aren't too keen to see this really take off as a social media platform.
It's a shame and a pity really. Of course, I could be completely mistaken... : /
Wow... a visit from a fellow influencer @michellectv π€... I busted the 10x hustle that's how, we all have the same 24 hours π.
As for established groups, all platforms have them. It's like YouTube, all the influencers collab with each other. So what do we do about it, bust out the best content out there and get them to noticed us... you know how it is.
Time will tell if this whole Steemit experiment will make real progress. Regardless, I'm certainly "long" for a blockchain social network.
It will take time. I remember first signing up to youtube in 2006, it was awful for years, same with facebook when it first started lol ... I see the future of social media to be on the blockchain so i'm like, why not start with the first.... steemit :)
You have a follower for life, love yur blogs!
I freekin love this!! One of my friends made a profound video on this awhile back. He said "you guys are so quick to support the celebrities that don't show any love back to you, but yet the person that is an upcoming celebrity, just because he engages with you and shows you some love...you wanna think he's less than that other celebrity." Hes also said, "I noticed that the moment a person starts giving some attention to the person who commented, you think that it's no big deal. See, you guys have been programmed to think that we shouldn't show love back. If Trey Songz commented back at one of your posts, you wouldn't think so highly of Trey Songz anymore. Y'all need to check yourself!"
Lol that's some real shit he said! <3
P.S. You have perfect teeth :)
We have a "thinker" here and her name is @awarenessraiser lol ... People are brainwashed and programmed to behave in a certain way. We need more self aware people like yourself around :)
P.S. I need to start listening to Trey more lol
Thank you!! hahaha ayee and Trey knows how to get them females attention! If he responds back to a female, they literally faint and have to be brought back to life! π€£
It's very nice that you are engaging with your followers, makes you stick out from the crowd a bit too =D ... Can you give me advice about something, I am still unsure about voting importance. For example am I depleting my vote power by upvoting 'too often''. I like a lot of posts therefore I feel like upvoting all of them but then my voting power goes down and down ( & it's small to begin with !) - So, what is the best advice?
You got the power, you got the results so I am sure you can inform me right!
& u have got big guns lol
You are awsome @aineyann, do you have a power bar yet? It comes along when u have about 500 steem power so you can control your upvotes.
I always keep my power between 80-90%, I created enough content the past couple months that I have pretty good power. for example if i upvote %1, i give about .04 so that I can do tons of votes. However I do upvote 100% to people all the time with great content.
For everyone its different, I think your doing well by the way :)
Oh I am excited! γ
I only have 439.174 Steempower, so close but no cigar =) ...I am having great fun in the process tho!
That is really good to know for the day that I have a slider!
Thank You for helping me :] Very awesome too :]
No problem, anything you need just hit me up anytime... it may take a day or two but I do respond :p
I appreciate as always, you are a busy man, but a humble one. It's magnificent to see :)
Bingo! The whole reason I joined Steemit was that it was different from all of the other social media sites. I love the interaction and real conversations here. And even though I'm just a lowly little red fish right now, I look to amazing uplifting people like you to hopefully be the standard we all strive for to keep this community growing. Thank you for the inspirationβ₯
Little Red fishes have lots of room to grow lol ... you are awesome :)
Dude, your radness reigns supreme in this post.
I'm new. It was a rude awakening when I commented on Craig and some big boys for a couple weeks and never heard back.
I love the approach of connecting. 1000 true fans!
I'm watching and learning man. I really appreciate that you interact.
I'm a true fan of yours even tho your newbie, heck I'm new too for about 2 months π
What's interesting is the old vets are only a little over a year old. Crazy time to be here.
Pedal to the metal.
We are considered vets haha :)
Yea we iz!
We bringin the swag haha
It says I upvoted 4,000 people. It feels like I've done more than that. I'm definitely upvoting and commenting several times throughout the day. 350 posts but about 1000 comments.
There's a lot of the big wigs on here that have like 70 rep that don't ever upvote their comments or even respond to them........ I really don't understand why people comment them at all since they're not performing any reader engagement. It's not cool.
Here is the deal, let's all become bigwigs and do the opposite of what they do. haha... that is my goal.
I agree, connect with steemians that are active and give back to the community!
There are only a few thousand that are "really" active in the community. Look at the some of the top people with followers, they just post and never comment. I find it funny lol
Yea same here
"why does it matter?" cause you are helping people! ;)
The truth ππΌπ
I'm new to Steemit, but your post inspired me !
It is hard to get answers for questions in blog post if you are under rep 60+. Over that it is likely doesn't matter how long or engaging your post, because people will upvote it, betting on the curation fee. And if a post get hot, I see many without real value, hundreds will follow. But if your rep is low, hardly have a chance to make big money. It deserves much more work than putting in a bigger sum and just commenting and upvoting. Fishes will follow straight away because of the voting power.
I try to avoid upvoting whales, just the important ones, and find interesting contents.
It's not a complain, I am sure the whales busy as well, but there are circles who vote very rarely outside theirs.
Commenting back is a good thing, thanks for sharing your thoughts, we just have to ignore those spam-like comments or bots. Not everybody understands Steem properly in the first month or so, or just want quick money, but they will give up after some time I am sure. But more quality works could be curated by those who have the power, it costs them nothing.
Followmefollowyouupvotemeupvoteyousendmoney :)
Totally understand where you are coming from, everything is a process. You see, my rep was (25) 2 months ago when I first started. I could of giving up when my first post was published, I made a whopping. 93 haha.
If people continue to make solid relationship and have that won't stop attitude, they can be successful in anything they can do. Appppresh your comment @coinkings! Now go upvopte me haha jk jk
See you in the near future.
Absolutely! It's easy to click a vote and scan an article, but to really interact with your community is another thing. True, we all have lives that pull us in many directions at once. And so many think it's completely normal to be slightly less of a human being just because its the internet. Yet, the people who are really successful building a following are those who think just the opposite. We should strive to be better than we normally are, because it is the internet. This is a sandbox where we get to define who we really want to be. What we do here really influences who we are outside of our screen names. Take care of your followers even if they may not take care of you in return. Move beyond the mindset that this is a give in order to get mentality. Give for the purpose of giving and then everything else will fall into place. Thanks Stacking. Cheers!
I cannot argue that comment ππΌ... I got a pretty big following but spend a few minutes to comment and engage with the community, it's called social media, people need to get social π
I feel ya brother! There are far too many narcissists out there and it is apparent they enjoy a stroke of the ol' ego and, of course, to be paid for the vanity while treating their followers like mere stepping stones. I try to keep a keen eye out for these types to give them the boot from my feed when their true colors are apparent.
Thanks for posting this. It needed to be said. I plan to write about a similar issue soon and think you would appreciate it.
"Stepping stones" best phrase of the day, it confuses me why people still comment on these guys post when they don't even comment back in months, I find it funny π
Yeah I feel much better whe someone replies to my comments. It sucks that there are so many people who don't give a fuck about others and only want to gain for themselves.
Totally agree, why would people even post without caring for the feedback?... in my opinion, they just want the money and don't care about the replies lol
Indeed, there's no other explanation π
Yes, I agree. Surrounding one's self with positive, supportive people is the way to go! Thanks. Upvoted and resteemed!
You are the best @oasis-in-arizona! P.S. I like Vegas Better jk haha
Hahaha! Who doesn't like Vegas? LOL
People who don't like to have fun haha
I try to reply to all my comments unless they are one or two words long. I upvote the people and blogs that I like every day! Thanks for all you do for my posts and others, if there were more people on here like you Steemit would be even better!
Keep doing what you are doing, a following will come. I do have a twin brother, does he count lol jk.
Nice man! This is how we have to do it ! Amazing what your doing for the community !
Thanks @luxurylifestyle... awesome name by the way haha
Thanks man :D of course. For me the luxurylifestyle is when I have the liberty to do what i want :) and I'm doing it really good ππͺπ½
I've never heard the saying, Documentation Always Beats Out Conversation but it makes a lot of sense. The numbers never lie and they are a direct reflection of your efforts. Slack off one week your overall growth might decline. Push hard for weeks and your numbers sky rocket.
I see a few people here saying I upvote everyone and you check their stats, they spend 80% upvoting themselves and their friends in real life only π
I love that you check to make sure people do as they say and say as they do. Numbers don't lie
Yes bro! Give value and you shall receive! Keep up the hard work and keep going against the grain and carving out your own path!
Thanks for the support @davidalexander! Let's create a new beginning :)
You are a Monster heheheh :P In a good definition :P keep supporting them and we keep supporting You :D
The best monster of them all.. "The Beast" LOL
He is amazing indeed eheheh π where did you got your bitcoin
πͺπΌππΌπ―
Charles @stackin Fuchs,
This may be the most useful post I've read so far on Steemit. I don't want to be an influencer, I want to be an engager. I'm looking for positive/negative interaction with the posts I create and to do that, I have to go back out in the community and interact.
I had gotten way to internal, simply upvoting the people who visited my posts. Granted, I've been spending more of my time researching/writing posts, in an attempt to produce top quality content. I have to go back to the start and make sure I'm supporting the community. I know that people like upvotes and tips, I know I do.
Tomorrow is a new direction. Budgeting time to curate. Thanks for the wake up call.
Always apppresh your comments @wakeupsheeps! π
thanks for you posts, you motivated me to upvote more βΊ I have upvoted about 3000 times and I will try to do more βΊ
Going for that 100k mark haha :)
Wow, 11,157+. That is one big number haha
Great Job @stackin. Amazing to see you spreading so much love and intern you get the support of this great community. To thrive we have to work together and interact with each other as without a community there is nothing.
We never know, the Kardashians might start interacting with their followers when they joined steemit one day! :) haha
I need Kim K to get on steemit and upvote me 100% hahaha :)
You really nailed it with this post! I've seen a lot of greed from some people on here. I've actually seen people down right begging for full power upvotes from whales and just trying every little thing to score some money. It's kinda sad that such a cool platform like this is bringing out the worst in some people. Anyways, very nice and correct post!
I totally understand where you are coming from... it's how our society is these days, people rather do the easy way instead of the hard way. Maybe that is a good thing, if everything was easy, everyone be doing it lol
People want content. Sometime you're too busy creating new content to find the time to reply. If I like your content then I prefer you to keep creating more than bothering with comments.
Na, I create more content than 99% do π€
Because you're extroverted. They probably nod at your replies, think about an appropriate reply till their heads hurt then go back to playing solitaire.
you hit some great points in this article, i wish a lot of these folk would be more generous to their followers, i seen the same trend on a lot of these post with steemers not responding are following a small amount of people, to be honest they are a people who are generous, they are still a large number of selfish people on here , thanks for sharing
Well I'm going to go against the grain and give tonto my peeps with great comments and posts πͺπΌππΌπ―
Happy to see the positive post. I love the fact that you not only have a positive message, you always seem like you are having so much fun. Great post! <3
I have to have fun... haha :)
This post received a 3.5% upvote from @randowhale thanks to @stackin! For more information, click here!
You are completely right the people who get the most votes hardly ever interact with the people who comment their posts. I have stopped voting for them, even though I do sometimes make a comment or two on their posts (doesn't hurt much because my vote is only worth.07 cents but I guess every penny counts).
You know I just checked and I have up voted 8987 times.
All those small votes do add up haha... Same here, the people who don't engage much I wont support them at all regardless if I can make money voting them up :)
Man, you have given me hope and I will follow and Upvote you. Cheers.
Doing my best :)
Thank you for your support.
I agree 100%! It's important give back to the community!
Yes sir :)
thats a lot of dedication to upvote so many posts. Also you got a lot of posts, i hope in years i will catch up you ;)
You can do it in a month haha :)
I hesitate to upvote because i didn"t want to follow the mass ^^ but I have to be honest and I liked your post ^^
Apppprehhhh the support πͺπΌππΌπ―
Thats probobaly more because your a good person that you interact more! Form of respect. Good post^
I'll replay to this, cause I respect my people lol π
Great post its made me look at steemit in a different way now keep up the good work. π
Thanks bossman!!
Great post! I always try to upvote when people comment on my posts, but it seldom get reciprocated, and I always wondered why.
yeah, I understand. I get around %5 who will upvote my comments back but I'm ok with that... If I just see that i'm helping people, that is good enough for me :)
Steady @stackin always here with the good vibes! Bless you brother, your hustle is admirable and inspires me to do more! :)
Thanks boss! hit me up when your ever in vegas :)
For sure we'll see you brother :)
Your the best ππΌπ―π―π―ππΌ
lol
I've seen exactly what you're saying. I've actually found conversing with the other people who comment on the person who doesn't responds blog can be rewarding in building relationships as well as getting upvotes and follows. Ironically, one conversation I had with someone actually drew out the original author into our conversation on their blog, lol.
Keep bothering them and they will show up haha
Haha that's true, but the way steemit is organized you can forget even who you talked to sometimes :)
You are right, nobody likes to talk to the wall. Thank you so much for what you do @stackin!
It's been tuff to catch up with comments but i'm doing my best so people don't talk to a wall lol
Wow!!! I love this post @stackin You taking words to my mouth. You deserve a UPVOTE AND RESTEEM from me. More power to you brother.
Wow, I'm so thankful ππ
Very good post, it actually seams about right for many here now that I think about it. Its sad really...
Let's change that π
