Olivier Giroud reveals why he left for Chelsea

The French striker Giroud, The reason for his departure for Chelsea during the last transfer window was from Arsenal.

"The Italian coach Antonio Conte, the coach of the Blues, promised me a fair competition with Spanish striker Alvaro Morata,"

Giroud said in an interview with France Football magazine .

"Conte told me he wanted to work with me, that my specifications were interesting and that there would be real competition with Alvaro Morata," he said.

Giroud said the attackers were as strong as Chelsea, such as Diego Costa, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank and Didier Drogba.

The French striker also referred to his controversial move from Arsenal to Chelsea, one of his most prominent opponents in London.

"In England, many have told me an excellent deal, Arsenal are a great team, but Chelsea have the most titles in recent years," he said, admitting that Borussia Dortmund was seeking to sign him.
