In India all just eagerly wait for winter to fall, as winter brings many yum and nutritional food and dishes along. Last month I shared the recipe of Gajar ka Halwa( Carrot pudding) is one of the famous of all. Also we have many options in fruits and dishes with lots of ghee to keep joints, skin, hair and digestion well. Also many varieties of nuts, berries and grains like Ragi, Bajra etc.
Today ill share one very simple, tasty and healthy recipe of Chikki. Chikki is basically a combination of jaggery and nuts, is savoured in winters to bring warmth in the body and its natural oils. Chikki is made with many options like Peanuts, Dry Fruits, Chickpea, Rajgira, Puffed rice, Sesame, Coconut and many.
How to make Chikki:
Melt the Jaggery in a pan with little of ghee and add nuts of your personal choice. Transfer in a plate make balls or cut in pieces.
Carry them in your tiffin for munching as a healthy option.
When it comes to enjoying wonderful and delicious snacks, winters are always special. I just love peanut chikkis, sprinkled with sesame seeds. Super yummy and way too sweet n delicious.
