Over-protecting a very bad attitude that parents who wish for their children to become important in life should desist from. This is due to the fact that you may feel because you wish for no harm to be done to the child but instead and unknowingly, you are the one doing the harm to the child, yourself and the society as well.

When you over-protect your child, the child totally depends on you and would not be able to do anything right unless you are there to assist him. Therefore, over-protection would just bring about over-dependency. Also, as the child begins to grow up,  goes to school either primary or high, he/she would nit be able to match up with his/her peers and would be victim of bully and threats. This is because he may offend someone and feel that his parent(s) are gonna be there to kick ass for him. When the mates discover it, and find out he is a weakling, they would continuously oppress him.
