Childhood skills

What did i like doing when i was young?
My son from an early age started to draw creative and detailed pictures. And then after drawing these pictures he would sit with me and explain the picture to me, noting all the names of characters and highlighting all the finer details in the picture, his imagination was fascinating and i could listen to him for hours. Since then i have encouraged this skill and i hope his continues to draw or imagine for a long time.
So then it made me think what did i like doing regularly when i was little? what kept me busy for hours? Was i good at it? and am i still enjoying or doing that activity regularly? I asked my mum but she cant really remember and so i wonder have i lost these childhood skills?
So if ever one day in the future when my kids are adults and decide to ask me the same questions i really want to be able to answer that question for them. So every year on their birthday card i write a list of things they like doing, hobbies, skills, likes and dislikes.
I think our past is important to our future.
