RE: Help My 4 year old is driving me crazy

in #children8 years ago

She's a kid, she's supposed to be going a mile-a-minute.

She learning, experiencing, exploring and growing. Be happy she's interested in all sorts of things. Actually, many adults could learn from this and need to continue to learn as well.

That said, help her to "pause" for a moment and admire "the beautiful flowers or "the bumble bee" in the garden.

A simple pause like this will help her long-term to focus.

Limit all types of "screen-time" - video games and TV. These will lead to more hyper-activity.

Have her run around outside to help her burn off some of that energy so she'll sleep better and give you a rest.

Read with and to her. Show her how interesting books can be. This will help her in life, school and work long-term.

But most of all - just enjoy this time. She's going to grow up and most likely at some-point in her early to mid-teens, she's not going "like mom much" because she'll be challenging you in different ways, like we all did as kids.

But trust that that will change and she'll grow up know Mom really did know best and she'll respect and love you.

I hope that helps.
