Out in the cold and deep in the hot mood
Killing time and thinking of the times
When the emptiness of the mind was filled to the brim
And when nothing that wasn't simple seemed to deem
We were friends with the sand and the ant never bit us twice
Dated the bushes and made a deal with it's inhabitants
To roam around it in the day while they freely owned it at night
We ran about in the chase for locusts
On clothes we couldn't wash; we stained with all dust
We watched the Mantis pray all day
And preyed on the bush rats that lost their way
We followed the mad man
But will run away when he attempts following us
We built in the sands and destroy
And for no reason, it gave us joy
We agreed, we didn't judge
And never judged on whatever we agreed on
Statements from us were true and simple
And we all simply meant whatever we stated
Trained without manual to look out for each other
And flowed in every angle without a border
Here and there we went not without each other
As though we kept an invisible pact.

Mother's words were always real but she always spoke them in tongues
She sent words of truth into my ears but encoded them in simple lies
Yes, simple lies that didn't count or hurt
Because I couldn't yet behold the nakedness and realities of the truth
Father owned a straight face radiating heat more than the sun
With lines of worries carved at every corner of the face
Blunt to the core, showing us the world as it is
Never did our feeble minds understand him
We enjoyed what came our way
Not knowing that to get it, they might have gone out of their way
We filled up to satisfaction
While watching us enjoy was their own satisfaction
Oh! The yesterdays that will form the tomorrows of today
The wisdoms of today made clear from the lessons of yesterday
The realities that will help to raise the owners of tomorrow
Today; the yesterday of tomorrow.
