Strange. In my experience China Eastern is one of the better airlines in China (but then again, haven't flown with them in years & things change quickly in China).
Perhaps you could ask a friend who speaks Chinese to intermediate?

That was not my point. I thought, this could perhaps lead to a better understanding not only linguistically, but also culturally. In China a lot depends on the personal connection you can make to people.
