China has launched The 100 000 Genomes Project

According to the site hqwx.com , On December 28 China launched a project called "The genome of hundred thousand people", which is the first state plan in China in the study of the human genome and it is currently the world's largest genomic project.

Chinese scientists intend to study the relationship between diseases also health and gene inheritance through careful decoding of genomes of 100 thousand people, who mostly belong to the main Han nation and 9 smaller ones.

The main specialist of this project, Prof. Wang Jadun noted that the aim of the project is to clarify the causes of diseases and provide reference data for Chinese medical research, clinical diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

It is planned that during 4 years all sequencing and genome analyses will be performed, as a result the project will be able to become a genetic engineering with the highest speed of execution in the world.
