The “China Yiwu International Commodities Fair” which has been held for 23 years has been renamed as “China Yiwu International Commodity (Standard) Fair”. This means that after the “standard exhibition” held last year, China Yiwu International Commodity (Standard) Fair will concentrate more on “standardized” features, showing a new pattern of “standardization”.
Create standardized exhibition and promote internationalized trade
The rename of the fair aims to highlight the Chinese manufacturing, Chinese brands and Chinese standards, so as to enhance the international standardized exchange and cooperation and promote the “going out” of Chinese standards and “bring in” advanced foreign standards, fully demonstrating the achievements of China’s standardization strategy and standardization reform.
In 2017, the China Yiwu International Commodities Fair inventively introduced the theme of “standardization” into the exhibition and held a standard exhibition, gathering 47 well-known standardization institutions, enterprises and research institutes at home and abroad, demonstrating the importance of standardization in improving product quality, emphasizing the practical significance of standardization in enhancing industrial development and highlighting the huge impact of standardization on promoting international trade. According to statistics, the number of on-site visitors last year reached more than 180,000, with standardization information consultants accounting for 18,300 and cooperation intentions for 947. And more than 100,000 publicity materials were distributed and the on-site direct transaction was nearly 20 million yuan.
The fair this year will set up another standard exhibition to fully demonstrate the achievements of China’s implementation of standardization strategy and standardization reform, and further consolidate the “1+1+X+N” framework, that is, one “Made in Zhejiang” themed exhibition area + one standardization themed exhibition area + several standardization industry demonstration areas + N standardization leading enterprises.
Among them, the “Made in Zhejiang” themed exhibition area is located in the C1 Pavilion, covering 212 standard booths. The exhibition area represents high-level and high-standard enterprises and products in Zhejiang, as well as the advanced standard system and certification mode of “Made in Zhejiang”, highlighting the high quality of products “Made in Zhejiang” and reflecting its advanced standard. The exhibition area focuses on demonstrating the excellent results of the deep integration of standardization and economic and social fields, presenting the brand image of standardization institutions at home and abroad as well as the advanced level of Chinese standards, and highlighting the achievements of China’s standardization reform.
The standardization industry demonstration exhibition area covers six Advantageous Industries Demonstration areas, including hardware, handicraft, jewelry, textile and apparel, electronics and electrical appliances and fashion department stores. Standard elements are implanted in the exhibition area, along with related standardization service organizations, to directly dock with exhibitors, leading enterprises to upgrade product standards and improve product quality. The leading standardization enterprises include eight industry enterprises and a group of enterprises’ exhibiting products with TC, SC or standardization service organizations at home and abroad.
