Chocolate will be lost in the next 30 years!

in #chocolate7 years ago (edited)

Who does not love from child to old age, chocolate? But by 2050 scientists have expressed the possibility of losing the existence of this chocolate.

They say the cocoa tree is going on in the list of endangered plants due to global warming and decreasing amount of water in the air.

The main ingredient in making chocolate is cocoa seeds. To grow cocoa trees, the temperature, rainfall and humidity are almost the same throughout the year.

Besides, poor farming is mainly associated with the production of cocoa seeds, which can not use adequate fertilizers or insecticides in the farm.

Under these circumstances, scientists using the gene-editing technology 'CRISPR' are thinking of enabling environment for cocoa trees.

A report from BusinessSigner.com said that food and candy production companies Mars and the University of California have started using Gene-Editing Techniques (CRISPR) to adapt coco seeds to adapt to warmer and dry environments.
