NEVER ACCEPT THE LIFE OF MEDIOCRITY!!!

Most times in churches, we hear preachers tell the congregation that they will enjoy life in heaven if they can remain steadfast and keep themselves holy. It is not a bad wish, but from my own understanding, God wants us to enjoy our "heaven on earth" before we are called to join him. That's actually one of the reasons He sent Jesus Christ to die for us, so that we may live abundant life. The only way we can tap from this abundant life is by believing that Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the Law and we are set free.

John 8:36

Whosoever the son has set free, is free indeed.

If we don't take advantage of the freedom we have gained, it won't be of any good to us. Lets stop relaxing and waiting for God to do something for us, because in reality, God is the one waiting on us.

Gather some courage and say to yourself "I am not going to live a life of mediocrity, I am going to take that step of faith and push forward.

There is a popular story about a little dog called "bingo" that is always tied to a thirty feet leach for many years. His owner comes to his home occasionally to give him food and play with him but the dog remained on the leash. Most times when he sees other dogs to play with or chase after, he would run after them; but he was limited because of the leach on his neck. He knows exactly how far he could go, if he goes too fast, the leash jerks him back.

The owner of the dog have been noticing this for a while and felt pity for the dog. So, he decided to unbuckle the leash from the dogs collar but the collar still remained on his neck. As usual, he was expecting the dog to run to play with other dogs now that it's free but to the owners surprise, whenever the dog gets to where the leach would have ended, he does stop right where he always do. Hours later, the neighbourhood cat that always torment him all the time, that knows exactly where the leash will stop came as usual to torment him. The dog ran after the cat but stopped exactly at usual spot. The dog was free from his bondage but he never realized it. If the dog could just take a step of faith outside of the leach range, he would walked right out of it.

Often times people's attitudes can be similar to this dog's. God has loosened our bonds or chains of bad attitude, shame, low self esteem, inferiority complex but we've refused to work out of it. It is high time we refuse to relax and accept things lesser than what God intend to do in our lives. our mindset should be "I know my chains have been removed, I also believe my price has been paid on the cross of Calvary, and even if I've to stand in faith all the rest of my life, I'm not going to sit, relax and accept the life of mediocrity. I'll keep pushing forward.

Beautiful writeup. Self limitation is a curse on its own. People live a mediorce lifestyle especially some christians because they believe heaven is where all the enjoyement is.
