I attended the True Legends conference this past weekend, and it struck me that we don’t ask the right questions about history. This vast detriment creates a profound level of uncertainty and ignorance that leads to powerlessness. What proportion of our knowledge about history is accurate? How much are we missing? How could we even estimate the size of the gaps in our understanding of both natural and human history?
