I am writing to you out of hospital:
When I was diagnosed with diabetes 16 years ago, doctors told me, you can go blind, you can lose limbs, your kidneys and heart can fail, but they never told me about this:
In April 2016 this "sore" started on my stomach and despite on being on antibiotics it just progressed until it was looking like the picture above. At that time I did not disinfect the injections site where I injected the insulin, like most people I know, don't disinfect. I even injected through my clothes if I was in a public place etc. So when this happens the doctor said to me this is very common in diabetes, (first time in my life I heard of it) and it happened because I did not clean the injection site. So yes I blamed myself and I went through this terrible ordeal.
The surgeons cut out this absesses and because it is such big "sites" it can't be closed up. It just gets dressings on it that needs to be changed every second day. Time must heal it.
So with time, prayer and lots of patience after about 4 months it looked like this.
After 5 months it was totally closed up and I was so thankful, and both my husband and I believed if I do all the right things, this cannot happen again.
Since then I never ever injected again without disinfecting the site. So it was with shock that I wake up one morning and felt something is starting to happen again like last year. So I went to the hospital and they gave me a week's antibiotics. But in spite of being on the antibiotics, the absess just keep on getting bigger and bigger. When I went to casualties on Friday the doctors told me now, it will happen again and again just because I have Diabetes. Especially at times when you struggle to manage your Diabetes.
So my husband and I with our pastor and other prayer groups have been praying for a miracle so that I don't need that kind of surgery again. I have until tomorrow morning then I must make a final decision on being operated or not.
If it is not lots smaller tomorrow I must go forward with the operation. I really hope and pray that I can report back that it was not necessary. If it is not the Lord's will to do a miracle then I must accept it and go forward with the operation. There is lots of times that we dont understand the way God works, but I still trust Him that He knows best.
If you have Diabetes or maybe family and friends with Diabetes please make them aware of this.

My wife was talking to a friend from church that is a borderline diabetic. She is taking a product that is working for her. It's a multilevel product that she said so she recieves the product for free which makes it expensive. I'm not fond of the system but if it works? We left to go to a family reunion & my wife says she has the name of the product written down at home if your interested.

Just seeing your post. It happens that my wife & I were watching a Netflix documentary today entitled What the Health. The story was based on the documentarian's search for outcomes for people who shift to vegetarianism/veganism. Some of the people, two of them morbidly diabetic, turned things around very quickly by doing some fasting and omitting animal protein. I'm not vegan myself, so I feel a little hypocritical, but the film's premise was actually very interesting (they probably wouldn't like you watching it in the hospital).

Thank you for your comment. I have friends that are vegetarians. I just love my meat. The strange thing is that meat dont influence your sugar much. It is the carbohydrates. I will do some research. I see you are a husband you can follow me for my love and marriage blog soon to be continued.
You should really try to find that documentary to see what the more recent research findings are about the relationship between meat eating and blood sugar. It's unexpected, and you'll see how your doctor -- where s/he has any nutrition education at all -- essentially benefits from you believing in the standard American diet dogma. It's really pretty eye-opening AND it has a lot of research sources from peer-reviewed journals, etc. Hope you're doing well.
