A lot of characters in the Bible at times dealt with depression like any of us. You can talk of Elijah, Job, Moses etc.
When you are spiritually depressed, your spirit automatically shifts a little away from God. You make less time to communicate with God through prayer, your are not able to evangelise the Gospel to others and at times you deny your soul some food by not reading your Bible. Anybody who finds him/herself in this situation needs help from the Almighty God.
1. Sin
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin
When our sins are forgiven our soul rest at piece.
2. Greed
So Ahab went home, sullen and angry because Naboth the Jezreelite had said, "I will not give you the inheritance of my ancestors." He lay on his bed sulking and refused to eat.
Greediness brings evil thought. Let love lead you.
3. Comparisons
We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.
Don't compare yourself to others, be happy with the little you have.
4. Speaking negatively
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Speak positively at all times.
5. Fatigue
Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
Every depressed soul needs rest.
The only remedy for spiritual depression is praying and seeking the face of God. May God take you out of any depressed situation in Jesus name, Amen
