Psalms 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart:
try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

I’m reminded that in Gen. 1:26, we are created in God’s image (character). Character is simply that is unchanging. God is asking how often do we change? Who are you? Are you the same person all the time? Are you consistent or predictable? Leaders must have character, so the people can trust them. Characters attract loyalty. Character is a commitment to a set of value (things we value) without compromise. For example, if you value your marriage vows, then you will not commit adultery. And character is self-imposed discipline for the sake of moral convictions. They police themselves. A person with character lock themselves up in the prison of their own convictions and throw away the key. So, we are to integrate (to become one) our words, our deeds (the act of performing) and our actions as one. When our words, our deeds and actions are one that’s character. Now, we are acting like our Dad! Our identity comes from our Father in heaven! Glory be to God!
