Hope is a precious thing

I want to share with you my devotion today. Jesus is so alive and well to speak to our hearts to fuel our hope in this world that is too far from Him. The world needs Jesus. Our living hope. He is the only One.

Psalm 131

O Lord, my heart is not lifted up;
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things
too great and too marvelous for me.
But I have calmed and quieted my soul,
like a weaned child with its mother;
like a weaned child is my soul within me.

O Israel, hope in the Lord
from this time forth and forevermore.

 David wrote this from His heart, David is named as a 'Man after God's own heart.'

His eyes are not lofty, His heart is not haughty. He only finds His deep contentment in God. We would love to pursue God, because we would be lost without Him, but are we surrendering and renouncing all our pride? Our self reliance?  IT IS NOT EASY. BELIEVE ME. As David said to hope in the Lord from thus time forth and forevermore. The world needs hope. Without hope? Where will we be?The Lord said it. The Lord would like us to hope in Him alone. So come find your rest in him. Calm your troubled heart in His presence. Quiet your soul by resting in the promise of his presence.

Isn't that a precious thing? How sweet is Our God.
When we truly seek contentment and quietness with God, our souls will be satisfied with Him alone, is that worth more than anything else in the world?Yes, it is. God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him. Is that the hope of the glory we have in Jesus Christ, Our King and Lord.
