The future is very important. The importance of one's future cannot be overemphasized. It's only a dream that guarantees tomorrow.

The future you cannot picture, you can't feature in it.

Vision is very key in every decision you make.

Make a marital decision with tomorrow in mind. Any marital choice is a generational choice. You never had choice over who your parents are, but you can decide who "co-parent" your children with you. Tomorrow is longer than today.
Relationships are custodians of opportunities. I will list some of the fundamental tips for a relationship using [Matthew 1:18-25] as point of reference.

i.
Respect the process. There is always a how to everything. In fact, the how is more important than the what. The how is the process.
Jesus was conceived and was in the womb for 9 months. His period in the womb could have been shortened since He is God, but it wasn't. Never elevate tradition above God's words and prinicples.
There is a process of engagement before marriage. These two are not the same. Don't act like a wife while you are still a Fiancée.
God respects process.

ii.
Anchor your marital decision on God's plan for your life. Not everybody is good for you to marry.
There are 3 things that DETERMINE how people make decisions in life.
For personal needs,For societal needs and also God's plan.
So, you need to ask, Is this God's plan for me?
Make marital decisions in the light of God's plan (your assignment on earth) for you.

iii.
Peoples' decisions are influenced by their sense of identity. Your decision on people is based on how you think about yourself. If you think wrongly of yourself; you will choose wrongly. If you don't understand your identity in Christ Jesus, you'll be choosing based on your past, based on your experience or based on other people's ideas.

iv.
Relationship with God is more important than your relationship with men. The first relationship Adam had was with God, same as Eve. You can only give out of what you have. If you have not received God's love you cannot give to anyone else; you can't love someone else successfully.
Romans 5:5;

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

v.
Don't honour a man more than you honour God. Every relationship has a replacement value. There's no one in your life God cannot replace. No man can be God to the godless. Only the place of God in our lives is irreplaceable.
