It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth; I held him and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house and into the chamber of her that conceived me. Song of songs 3:4
In the verse 1 of our chapter of study (Song of songs 3:1) it states, "by night on my bed I sought him who my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not." From our verses we find out that the woman in mention sought desperately for her lover. Yet as long as she searched on her bed (verse 1), her search proved futile. She first had to arise from her bed and go about the city searching. It was then she encountered the watchmen of the city and soon after her lover.
In the same way many Christians are trying to seek God on their beds. They say they want to know God but continue to remain in their comfort zones. They don't put in any practical effort to find God. And until they also arise and step out of their comfort that encounter might continue to elude them.
In the end our search must lead us to the watchmen; the servants of God, men and women of his body. And as we find ourselves in such company it wouldn't take long before we too finally discover him. But it all begins from getting off our beds.
LIFE APPLICATION
Search your heart to see whether you are searching for God on your bed or not.
PRAYER
Lord may you reveal yourself more to me even as I seek you.
Food for thought. " He that seeks me shall find me".
Sure and will never perish
