And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Mark 1:40
This leper had faith in the ability of Jesus but not in His will. He was totally confident that Jesus had the power to cleanse him of his leprosy but was not sure if it is something He would like to do.
Unfortunately, a lot of people find themselves in a similar situation where they have heard testimonies of God's mighty works in the lives of others; they know God can set them free from addictions, heal them, provide for them or do anything they desire but their uncertainty is whether He will.
Beloved, God tortured His own son (Isaiah 53) and sent Him to hell(Psalm 88) just for our sakes. He did all these not out of compulsion or necessity but love (John 3:16). The question then is: "if a person will give his life willingly for you, what else won't he?" Just as we have faith in God's abilities, let us also have faith in His will and we will be able to receive a lot from Him.
LIFE APPLICATION
God is very kind even to sparrows. Believe he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7)and has the will to give you whatsoever you need just as you believe He has the ability to.
PRAYER
Father, give me this day my daily bread.
