"Keep The Main Thing, the Main Thing..." - Daily Word #92

in #christian-trail7 years ago (edited)

Do you Love God or Love the Cause that He has called you to?
Do you Serve Him or Serve the Work that you are called to?

There is a fine line here. And yet there is a resolute boundary.

Jesus did not ask us to make converts to a way of thinking...
but to develop a Devotion to Him Alone!

Only when we have Jesus, may we have everything else!!

It is not everything else (every Christian act or behaviour) that justifies your Faith. Nothing comes close to your own commitment to Him, not your works, not your service, not your sacrifice. After all the Bible states that "To Obey is better than Sacrifice.

Are there areas in your life that you are (still) NOT Obeying the Lord in?

Perhaps it could be a bad habit, a reluctant change in our own character, a sin that so easily entangles, and yet we are still in the Grey in these areas!

When He was on earth, our Lord's FIRST Obedience was to do the Will of the Father, not the needs of man, not the needs of the believers. What Jesus did on the Cross was a Natural Outcome from Obeying All that the Father desired!

There may be some who have become exhausted because they have placed their full devotion and attention on humanity and the causes of the many social injustices. These are by no means wrong, however if we are just buzzing with the desire to help these causes, there would come a time when our "love" may run dry.

So today's short message is to POINT US back to the Keeping the Main Thing, the Main Thing.

OurLove + Obedience to Him, MUST always Be our Main Thing!!!

What we do after that is just an Overflow of that Relationship.

...I encourage you to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, dedicated to God and pleasing to him. - Romans 12:1 (GW) Source
