God calls me His child (1 John 3:1). I want my own children to be obedient and develop strong characters. When they fail, do I want them to question if they are still loved and accepted by me. Do I want them to wonder if they are still a member of the family, of course not. So it is with God, I am his Child - when I fail, he convicts and teaches me through the Spirit - but I am never to question my position in His family. I am His - beloved, cherished, totally accepted. This is why we are called His children so we will understand this concept.
