Build Your House Upon The Rock

Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Mat 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Are you building your house upon the rock? That rock is Christ, is your relationship with Him founded upon the principles of His will? If there are, then you are on a solid foundation, where Christ likens you to a wise man and furthermore, your house cannot be shaken, come what may, because our victory is in Christ Jesus.

So how do we build our homes on the rock? Christ answers this in verse 24, when we not only hear His words but do them. Throughout His Ministry, He taught on many different principles, which when we adhere and put them into practice, according to James 1: 25, we are blessed.

I want to write a series about this topic, today I will look briefly at one of the greatest principles, which Jesus taught in His three and a half years of Ministry.

LOVE – Christ came because He first loved us, and, He demonstrated that love in his walk. In his discourse on love, he pointed us to a higher form of love when he instructed us to love our enemies. Friends, it is easy to show love toward those who show us love and appreciation, but what about that individual who raises every hair on our head? What about those who persecute us, in various ways, without a reason?

Sometimes we suffer for the sake of righteousness, by our own families, by friends whom we did not expect to let us down, by our co-workers, by people in our communities and sometimes the least place we expect it, in the church.
Sometimes we ourselves are guilty of not showing love, not an outward show of what appears to be love, but a genuine expression of love, because God knows our innermost being and He knows when it is real.

When we are living a Christ-filled life, we must love people, regardless of colour, class or creed. 1Jn 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
1Jn 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

We want to move on to that perfection, and we can, since Christ did not leave us comfortless and without weapons. Remember, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal and we are not fighting against flesh and blood. Therefore, in time of need when we identify a spirit of envy, or malice etc. We have that authority to call on the Holy Spirit and use the blood and the name of Jesus to disarm every spirit that is at work, we can live a victorious life in Christ Jesus. One of the most powerful weapons we have been given is prayer.

We may never be ask to lay our lives down the way Christ did for us, but if we are going to perfect the love of Christ in our lives, then we must pay attention to 1 Corinthians 13. At the beginning of the chapter, the apostle Paul says, that it does not matter how good we are, what great things we try to do or even what anointing is upon our lives, if we have not love, it profits us nothing. Love suffers long, it is kind, does not envy, does not brag or boast, is not puffed up or arrogant. Love does not behave itself improper, does not seek its own way, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity but rejoices in truth. It bears all things, however difficult, hopes and endures all things.

God Himself is love, He gave His Son because of love, we who bear His name ought to walk in love, this is not a new commandment, as is said in 2 John 2:5. And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

Shalom

Love! Love God, love others! Fulfills all of the laws and the prophets. The only part of our life that will stand after the storms are the part we build on the Word of God. Being doers of the Word, not hearers only.

Oh! sorry sister. Thanks for making it clear. God bless you

God loves us so much, it is difficult to fully comprehend.

This is so true, when God could send His only begotten Son to die for us, which one of us would give our child to die for someone else? The thought of God's plan of salvation is unfathomable. Thank you for reading, I am encourage.
