Do not love the world
Or anything in the world.
If anyone loves the world,
Love for the Father is not in them.
For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh,
The lust of the eyes,
And the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

1 John 2:15‭-‬16 NIV

Love not the world,
Neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world,
The love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world,
The lust of the flesh,
***And the lust of the eyes,****
And the pride of life, is not of the Father,
But is of the world.

1 John 2:15‭-‬16 KJV

Do not love the world
[of sin that opposes God and His precepts],
Nor the things that are in the world.
If anyone loves the world,
The love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world--the lust and sensual craving of the flesh
And the lust and longing of the eyes
And the boastful pride of life
[pretentious confidence in one’s resources or in the stability of earthly things]--
These do not come from the Father,
But are from the world.

1 JOHN 2:15‭-‬16 AMP

About Read A Bible Verse Daily

As Christians we need a daily dose of the word of God to stay active and keep us on track.

Due to the stress and the busy schedule of life and we tend to relegate this activity to one specific day, which should not be so.

I bring to all Steemians an opportunity to read and meditate on a verse each day.

The truth is what you have said.

Do not love the world
[of sin that opposes God and His precepts]

It is hard to stay good and honest in today's world but you spreading a dose of the world can do us(steemians) a whole lot of good.

Yeah for sure

I have been perplexed for long about this verse in the bible. If i want to be rich, does it really mean i love the world? and what does it take for one to be classified as he/she loves the world. Sometimes it feels like we should all become Pastors after reading that bible verse. Whats you take on this

Everything good comes from above

God wants his children to be rich so he blesses u with those. As Christians it's our portion to be financially stable.

The love of the world comes on when much conventration and attention is given to that which will not last (money) than to doing good to others and getting to know him more.

And about all becoming pastors 😁, well not all are called to become those... Even not all those who claim to be Christians would be entering the gates of Heaven.... He has appointed pastors, apostles, elders and deacons.... All those who join without being called have lost their way

That's my favorite bible verse

Wow that's amazing

Somebody sent me this verse in French today :).

Then it seems this msg was reallly meant for you.
Pls find tome and meditate on it
