(1 John 3 : 14 ; We know that we have passed from death unto life , because we love our brethren ,. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. ) This is a very strong statement but it stands out . We know that God is love , and it stands to reason why God would want us to love the brethren , if we do not love our brethren death abideth in us. But if we do love our brethren we are God's children , and we are passed from death unto life. God gave his only begotten Son to die for us , this is love while we we yet sinners Christ died for the ungodly.
