The 3 categories of sin in the world
Today is a great day and I would like all believers to join me as we take a journey into the book of 1st John 2:16 which states For all that is in the world,the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world
The world as we have known it our days have grown very hostile and cold to accommodate the plans that God has for humanity. What is happening to us in the world today is a result of the manifestation of the flesh. Sin has filled the world greatly and it has even found its way into the church. I would like us to examine what the Holy Ghost inspired John for our consumption.
Three kinds of sin were mentioned in the passage above

The lust of the flesh
The lust of the eye
The pride of life
Now, let us consider them one after the other

The Lust of the Flesh

This category is the first one mentioned in this verse. The question is, What are some of the things the flesh lust after? I was able to come up with some common ones like; anger,hatred envy craving desire to commit sexual immorality, adultery,uncleanness and a host of others. Simply put, they are the things we do when we allow the flesh to take control over our daily life. Brethren I would like us to recall that the flesh is enmity with the spirit of God. Many a time what really motivates us to do certain things is the lust of the flesh.So it will be profitable unto us if we really consider every decision we make here on earth.

The Lust of the Eye

The eye one the five senses God gave to us. The eye is a lamp to the whole body. We feed our spirit through our senses.
What are you looking for?
You desire to ride the new model of cars?
Use the best phone on the market? etc.
Some of these ambitions are not entirely bad but they gradually take away your attention from God.These activities drives us to associate with the ungodly. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? .....Matt 16:26

The pride of Life

Sometimes we begin to feel more important than others. We looked down upon others because of where we stand in society. We are much confident in our fat account and our business connections. We feel untouchable because of the fame and power we have. All of these have made us proud and arrogant before God. People even find it difficult to approach you on the things you did wrong. Such things end us nowhere in the kingdom.
Fellow Christians, I want us to understand the principle of our world does not permit us to involve ourselves in everything. It is clearly stated in Matt 6:24 No man can serve two masters........
Let us conclude with 1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever
We are here to fulfill a divine mandate. It is only them that doeth His will would enter the kingdom. Brethren can we spend a few minutes to analyze the gravity of this issue.

If it is to be approved of by men, then you have missed it. Christ came not to punish the world but to give us life in its fullness.
