Who Were These Young Men?

Here it is 2018. Do we have young men today with the character and the ability to stand up for what is right? Do they even know the difference between right and wrong?

The young men of the 1770's were taught straight from the Bible. They learned how to read and write scriptures. Today, God is not even allowed in schools except as an "extra-curricular" activity, if there is an adult who leads.

In the 1770's, young men were taught how to protect their families. They were mostly farmers and did hard work all day long - from before sun up to past sun down. Today, a great many are on drugs, are watching TV, are already in jails, or have no ambition at all.

In the 1770's these young men were helping to build a new nation. They had a purpose. Their parents were proud of them, expecting them to take over the family business one day. Today, many young men have no father to lead them, no father to give them good advice, no father to show them how to be a man. Many are raised by a single mother, who is out working and has little or no time for them either.

So is there a problem? So what do we do about it? Do we ignore it? Do we wait for it to become worse? Do we imprison more young men? Or perhaps we go back to 1770's and teach from the Bible again?

What do you think?

Back then, living to age 20 was a ripe old age right?

It is amazing tho, if those ages are accurate for the time of the portrait, how much they tried to look older with the gray hair and such.

But perhaps I am wrong.

But also, I agree, the issue could start at home, with the broken family.
All by design, designed by your favorite political scumbags who get bought out by companies to pass legislation to further deepen the pockets of those corporations whilst destroying the average American family.

Where did all the farmers go? Taxed to oblivion by the Fed so that a flase scarcity of food would arise. For what kind of population can't feed itself? An easy one to control.

Same with guns. There is a reason all of this is culminating now.

thanks for your comments. I checked your stats - drones are great for photography, unless they are dropping bombs on the populace. agree pretty much of your opinion. have a blessed day.

oh miss the old days. we always say that once there was a better, more few years we will say it again i guess

let's hope there will be again, some good ole days for our children too.

yeah i hope so, I'm really not sure where we're going

I think we're VERY closed to the end of Revelation! We'll see Jesus sooner than most think.

Every day I pray to Mashiach
We must have a change in the world
And I do not see any other way!

Well, not exactly accurate. During the 1700's Christian deism was at the height of popularity among intellectuals especially among those who were the founding fathers such as Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. Deistic beliefs played a huge and well-understood role in the Protestant Reformation, the American revolution, and the French Revolution. Deism is pretty much anti-literal interpretation of the Bible, while they believe in God and that the Bible has some value regarding teaching morality and such, it is to be interpreted not taken in a literal manner. Oh yeah and some of the founding fathers were pretty much-closeted atheists. So yeah, the whole Idea of going back in time to learn about the bible from the founding fathers seems a little bit counterproductive.

if you don't believe me- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Faiths_of_the_Founding_Fathers

quote- "the largest group consisted of founders who retained Christian loyalties and practice but were influenced by Deism. They believed in little or none of the miracles and supernaturalism inherent in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Holmes finds a spectrum of such Deistic Christians among the founders, ranging from John Adams and George Washington on the conservative right to Benjamin Franklin and James Monroe on the skeptical left."

but they still did learn from the Bible....how to read and they knew scriptures. Interesting info though. thanks.

In that regard you are right. I think we can learn from a little bit from all religons and systems of belife.
