Thoughts for the day - 3/11/18

in #christianity7 years ago (edited)

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:34 ESV

But all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.
Mark 4:19

I believe, when looking honestly at my own walk, one of the most challenging vices I struggle with is being very easily distracted away from that which is truly useful. I am constantly churning and analyzing numbers, concepts and ideas, both with a hope of furtherance for my person and family as well as my businesses. This constant attention to details, some out of my control often degrades to an unending circle of futility as so much of my energy is given to this, it is of course taken way from that which has true value. Left unchecked I end the day fully exhausted with so little to show for it.

Sound familiar? And of course planing and preparing are not vices in of themselves. The problem comes when we allow our faith in ourselves to map out the best course and to create the best return in life and forget to even consult with the Father. This is the way of the world and it leads to anxiety, constant worry, indecision, depression and eventually a complete inability to find contentment as we choke out the Spirit and no longer create fruit pleasing to our Father.

For me, I have to stop, drop and pray -- I take a day, pray, strum my guitar (poorly but boldly) and let the Lord refill and prioritize me.

As for me this day, I will ease my burden and just give thanks! Care to join me?

Many Blessings.

Taking thought of tomorrow can draw us away from trusting the Almighty with our daily bread. We can't add a cubit to our height, so why worry or be anxious?

Humans are interesting. They often have a lot of wisdom, gained both from experience and from higher realms, but they don't trust that wisdom. My Human calls it "overthinking."

If God sends you a loaf of bread, enjoy it and be grateful; don't turn it into a worrisome analysis of "what God meant by that" and whether the bread is whole wheat, organic, gluten free, fresh, or something else. It is in human nature to be curious and want to explore "what might be," but not at the expense of BE-ing.

Feline Blessings!

Prayer is the most powerful thing we do when we are really exhausted, don't get any way of survival. Before bad things come in our life, many of us forget to pray. So let's always stay in blessing :D Hope for the best for you.

Yea,this is so true,we get too worried of many things and forget God's love for us,we should not live our life based on the standard of this word but based on God's word,Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.Matthew 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

True... very often we fail to trust in God , we want to see immediate result and if the results are not coming as soon as we want it we lose hope and tend to seek other means for our want and happiness where they never exist and if they do it comes with a price.
From my personal experience God have always tend to answer me just in the nick of time, just when all hope and all source of help seems to be exhausted, there comes what I want.
It is still a journey in learning to wait on the Lord and have faith but other than that we have an AWESOME GOD.
Stay blessed!

Great thought brother @bycoleman.

for the sake of time, indeed man is in loss, except those who believe and exhort each other in truth and patience.

When we consult our Father on most decisions, we will find that the answers are always there for us. However, too often I find that I am just making plans or taking action without thinking of spending time on Him first, to determine if it is the right step. But when I do return to Him, there is always lots of clarity in what I do next.

A favorite song we use to sing while we were children goes thus

cast your burden, upon Jesus for he cares for you!

In him alone I put my trust, he is my refuge and my fortress.
God is the only one that never disappoint us in times of need.
Thanks for uplifting my soul

I think to me, it is stop, drop, look up, pray and worship. I have personally experienced that as I have looked up and worshipped, the lesser the anxiety that I have. If God even care about the flowers on the field, why should we worry about tomorrow? :)

Thanks for sharing this post with us and yes we sometimes fall into the deep well of material needs and slowly avoid the path of faith which leads us towards the anxiety and also leads towards the state of panic. So always pray to Almighty Father to show the right path which is pure and loyal. Wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

That's a good word. It happens to me aswell. Good advise

Trusting the Father means believing "We are where He wants us to be." Exactly in the place, situation, circumstance and condition where we are at now. It could be in a state of total bliss or utter desolation but trust the Father. He has plans for us. Just pray for discernment and guidance that His plans are revealed to us.

Better to pray than to worry.

Verse 27 of that matthew 6 tells us the bitter truth that No matter how we worry about being anxious, we can't extend our life's span.
So I care to join you sir @bycoleman seek first Gods kingdom, then watch him add all other things to me as i ease my burden, give thanks to him
