“The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night.”
Psalms 121:5-6 NKJV
Sunstroke is a life-threatening condition marked especially by cessation of sweating, extremely high body temperature, and collapse that results from prolonged exposure to high temperature. To be moonstruck on the other hand, is to lose mental balance due to some weird effects of the moon.
The sun and moon are however, good for us, so the promise above, is that God will protect His children from the harmful effects of nature. It means that, during the day when the harsh glare of the sun is generally hurting to all under it, you and I will be divinely shielded. We will enjoy the light of the sun without being endangered by its rays. In the night too, when the moon is ruling, and men’s minds are being generally affected by the exaggerated nature of shadows, we will enjoy the peace and the bliss unaffected by the weird spirits of the night.
Nature has been commanded to do us good only. The rains will give us increase and comfort without flooding, the dews will nurture our harvest to maturity. Thunders and lightning will herald His being with us and the shadow casting clouds are promises of more rain.
And whenever the sun becomes generally dangerous, and the moon weird, when rains become floods and the noise of His wheels become thunderstorms. Yet will we be sustained in peace, shielded by His wings. Even if the earth quake, underneath us will be, the everlasting arms.
Be full of peace, He is with us.
