A good day to all reading this! Today's reading is Psalm 9:9-10 and Proverbs 4:14-19
Psalm 9:9-10
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
This is a wonderful reassurance. When we've put our trust in the Lord, we can be sure that He will be with us through everything, and will deliver us. He protects us during any trouble. The wicked may be able to persecute us for a time, if that must be to fulfill God's will, but in the end they will be destroyed, while the righteous are saved.
Proverbs 4:14-19
Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
The wicked have no peace. They can only find it temporarily by attacking others and tempting them to destroy themselves. The wicked, at Satan's behest, only want make people as miserable and tormented as they are. The wicked live in their own darkness, and can't perceive the truth, while truth lights the way of the righteous.
"In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." (John 1:4-5)
