Sometimes i have an opportunity to share the word of God with people only to be told that its a " bed time story" or the bible is made up by a bunch of people. Let me begin by saying that its unfortunate that some people have those views because it is most likely that they've heard these from unreliable sources. I wasn't always a believer in the bible, in fact i grew up a Muslim up until 5 years ago. When i decided to actually study Gods word i began to find out the truth. The truth is that Jesus is the true King!
Matthew 2:1-12
*After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi[a] from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
Whats interesting about this passage is that the wise men who came looking for Jesus asked the first question in the new testament.“Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? If we look back to Genesis God asked the first question when he was looking for Adam after he sinned. "Adam where are you?"
This is crucial because we see in Matthew 2 when the wise men travel all the way to look for Jesus who is the answer for sin.
"11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route."
I was amazed after i studied this passage because each of the gift that was given to Jesus had a significant meaning
- Gold was given to a King around this time
- Frankincense was giving to a priest
- Myrrh speaks of suffering,burial,death
when we put all of the meaning of those gifts we know Jesus was a King, we know he was our high priest who taught us Gods way, and we know he died a horrible death on the cross for our sins. Keep in mind that they gave these gifts to a child. They also never studied the Torah because they worshiped the starts so they wouldn't have known what the prophets said about Jesus.
This is just a small sample of how credible the bible is if we put the effort to study it, there is over 350 prophecies that were fulfilled right to the detail, they say you have a better chance of winning the lottery 9 times than these prophecies coming to fulfillment. That shows us that God spoke to us through his Word and we need to find out what it says.
Have a wonderful day!

May I ask, since you were a Muslim, Do you accept the teaching that Jesus is God and that God is a trinity or do you preserve that God is one?
There's no pressure here. I don't accept the Catholic mystery of the trinity and find it to be a false doctrine. I do believe the Bible and accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I'm just curious where you stand on this coming from your background.
Good question, once i was convinced of who Jesus is i simply put all the things that were taught to me aside and began to study the bible. so to answer your question i believe that God is one, Jesus is the son of God who came down to earth to teach us and help bridge the gap between sin and God. Jesus mentions the work of the holy spirit a lot one sample is John 14:16
Excellent, Thanks.
Not a problem!
