When you have sorrow, heaviness and/or bitterness, consider yourself void of His presence no matter how 'christian' you are...
In the presence of God, there is fullness of joy and at his right hand are pleasures forever.
(The presence of God is not church... People are the church but God's presence can be provoked by the gathering of the church)
Whatsoever places pressure on you is not of God!
Whatever is capable of taking your joy is capable of taking you out of His presence. Gal. 5:22-24
You walk out of His presence when you walk into heaviness/pressure
Nothing should take away your joy...
For the joy of the lord is my strength.
Stay in the presence of the Lord and enjoy his love, favour, grace, anointing and power.
