Devotional Today: Spirituality Is Conformity to Christ

in #christianity7 years ago

Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (MSG)

The highest praise that can be given to any man is to be described as being Christ like. That is the noblest ideal in the world. People who live long together often grow to resemble one another. Years of intimate and loving fellowship reflect, even facially. So also years of close communion with the Lord should make us grow to look like Him, talk like Him and to act like Him. His life is our ideal.

Spirituality is not a vague thought; it is growing conformity to Him. Our earnest desire therefore should be to behold Him continually and to conform to who He is. Even though our communication with people and the world in general sometimes try to hamper our efforts to live and act like Christ, we already have been given the grace to overcome. The more we behold Him, the greater our desire to conform to His ways.

Confession

I thank GOD because in Christ Jesus I have the perfect example of how to live and walk on earth. I declare that I am empowered to pattern my life after Christ therefore I am daily being transformed from glory to glory in Jesus Name.

Blessings...

If you aren't striving to be more like Christ, you need to check and make sure that you are in Him.

Jesus Christ has shown us a perfect example of how to live. As Christians, we have to live our lives just like Him

Thank you for this wonderful contribution @fatherfaith

'The highest praise that can be given to any man is to be described as being Christ like.'

So True.

Our salvation enable us to be like Christ. It comes with the package. When Christ was on earth, Him and the disciples look alike and it was difficult to identify them. It took a kiss from Judas to identify Jesus.

The more we dwell and spend time in His presence, the more we are transformed to the image of Christ.
