Before i start I know that people who are religious are usually completely set in their own beliefs, and that is why there may be some prejudices towards religions or viewpoints that differ from their own. But I just ask that you read what I say and at least think about it. I believe in god, but I dont believe in church. I know what youre thinking, im just lazy. But i have a reason for saying so. I believe that church corrupts the views of god unintentionally. I think so because of the biggest gifts that he gave to us was free will. A vastly powerful omnipotent being who created an entire universe, decided to give us the ability to thing for ourselves, and make our own decisions. That shows the love and compassion he has for us as his creations. I believe that he gave us free will so that we may choose to follow him. He could have made it so that we had to follow him, but no, he gave us the choice. Logic is following something that can be proved, faith is following something that cant be proved. I know that people like to believe and assume that there is a way to prove that god is real without a shadow of a doubt, but the reality is, is that the only "proof" we have is the bible. Another amazing thing about free will, is that you dont need to be a follower. God gave us free will not to be mindless followers of him, he wants us to make our own choices, he wants us to use our free will to actively seek out our own personal relationship with god. This is why i dont believe in church. I believe it stifles the free will of the people who attend. It makes mindless followers who dont ever seek their own personal relationship with god. And they are taught that the bible is hard evidence that god exists. Turning faith into nothing more than logic. Id love to hear what you have to think on this subject.
The problem is that you have feelings and not facts. God wants us to meet with other believers to worship him and to help build up ourselves and other believers.
(Hebrews 10:25 NIV) Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
We should have a basis for our faith. The Bible says so.
(1 Peter 3:15 NIV) But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
I'm sure you have a lot of false, unbiblical beliefs that could corrected if you regularly attended a good, Bible believing church.
That last sentence is a bit bigoted and disrespectful. But I respect you for sharing your opinion.
(James 4:12) There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?
