How many times do you make a promise to someone
And then for some reason or another, you don't follow through
How many times do you tell someone I'll take care of it
But when it comes right down to it, you never do
How many times do you get angry with somebody
Because they did not keep their word
But then you turn around and break your promise
What we call honesty today is absurd
How many times do we make God a promise
Then you do your best but break that promise again
How many times has God forgiven you
How many times have you committed the same sin
If people have honor they try to keep their word
They do their very best to always follow through
People make mistakes and we need to forgive
We want God's forgiveness, he expects the same from you
Forgiveness is the key to salvation
