What do you gain when you serve other people
What is the value when you give your time away
Do you receive blessings when you share what you have
Is there a reward for serving people every day
The Savior teaches us very clearly in the Bible
If we serve the least of our fellow man we serve the Lord
The way we treat people is how we'll be judged
But he will bless us if we serve of our own accord
You will gain all the blessings that God can give you
You will gain God's love and feel him in your heart
He will bless you in life and bless you in Heaven
If you seek salvation, service is a good place to start
Thanks for sharing
I couldn't care less what Gandhi said. He wasn't a Christian. Here's a much better reason to serve:
(Matthew 25:34-40 NIV) "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. {35} For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, {36} I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' {37} "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? {38} When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? {39} When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' {40} "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
I agree that is a great scripture for that. I just chose the Gandi quote because I thought it fit the poem and I found the image online. The Gandhi quote is still correct though. Just because someone was not a Christian does not mean they have no wisdom. Thanks for the comment!
