New life, dress - Part One

Is it necessary to change my spiritual dress?

fuente

Like the prodigal son, we need to change our dress, that is, our sinful lifestyle, and adopt the new spiritual dress. Ephesians 4:17-18 does not say, "This therefore I say and require in the Lord, that ye walk no more as other Gentiles, who walk in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, alien to the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart.

Is it possible to have a new life in an old dress?

The answer is no. This passage from Ephesians 4:20-24 tells us, "But ye have not thus learned Christ, if in truth ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, according to the truth which is in Jesus. As for the past way of life, put off the old man, who is vitiated according to deceitful desires, and renew yourselves in the spirit of your own; and put on the new man, as God has changed our inner selves, we must strive to change our outer selves.

What aspects of my life are foul-smelling?

The Bible commands us to present ourselves before the blameless Lord in our whole being, 1 Thess. 523 says "And the same God of peace sanctify you wholly; and let your whole being, spirit, soul, and body, be preserved blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. And in chapters 4 and 5 of the book of Ephesians, the word teaches us what aspects of our spirit, soul, and body can be dirty and in need of washing.

What aspects of my soul should I change?

The soul is where all our good and bad feelings reside. We must keep it pure and clean of all that does not please the Lord. Let us see what the dirty aspects of the soul may be and how we can cleanse it.

 1) Character: Some Christians still act like the world does, their character is full of anger, and anger this produces shouting, slander (saying bad things). If you have an explosive and angry character, you must surrender your character to the Lord and tell Him that you want to be a person of peace. Ephesians 4:31 "Let all bitterness, anger, wrath, shouting, slander, and all malice be put away from you.

2) Feelings: Some people have a soul full of resentment, or lack of forgiveness toward those who have offended him, this resentment produces bitterness and malice in our soul. The word teaches us in Hebrews 12:15, "Take heed lest any man fail to receive the grace of God; lest a root of bitterness springing up should hinder you, and by it many should be defiled. A root of bitterness is to be feared, for it separates us from the blessings of our God.
