I've been thinking for quite awhile that what is troubling so many young people is that they have no base. They haven't been raised to believe in anything particular other than the shifting sands of popular opinion. Then they launch out and flail around and so many latch onto whatever gets them accepted with their peers...but then they're still dissatisfied and unhappy and don't even realize why. I like this reminder to establish a base from which to defend yourself against the many attacking arrows from the enemy!
You are so right! I despise when parents tell me, "It's now time for them to flap their wings and fly. The world needs these children to be the light for them." THAT IS SUCH A LIE OF THE ENEMY!!!!! You are to tell me that allowing my children to flap their wings and fly at an early age is ok? The Word says, "TEACH/TRAIN them up in the Way/Instructions of Yahweh and when they are old they will NOT DEPART FROM THEM." That requires a command on the part of the parent to take action, not a seat. Parents ignorantly allow other people (ie. churches, teachers, pastors, etc) to teach/train up their children and that is NOT how Yahweh says we are to operate within family. The statistics are staggering these days: 75% of "Christians" who attend "Church" do NOT read their Bible. That's INSANE in the MEMBRANE! Throw out the Word of God and His Instructions and you get fluff... tossed to and fro in the wind... with no base line for Truth. So sad!
AMEN!!!! Parents abdicating their parental role in favor of being a buddy, and failing to provide direction throughout childhood, is a rant I can really get going on sometimes!
