Luke 5:18-20 | Introduce Others to Jesus

in #christianity7 years ago

Our local preacher had a great message recently. It goes something like this: “Saved people serve, so that the served can become saved.”

This was really eye-opening and something that I hadn’t fully thought about before. There are many examples in the Bible, but Luke 5:18-20 is a good illustration of this.

Jesus was preaching to a huge group of people. They were all packed into this house with no more room left to spare.

Luke 5:18-20

18 Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus.
19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”

This man’s friends believed in the grace and power of Jesus so much that they climbed onto the roof of this place and busted a hole to lower him through.
What is really inspiring is that Jesus recognized their faith and forgave the sins of the paralyzed man.

We can’t save people, our pastors can’t save people, but we CAN introduce them to Jesus and Jesus can and will save them.

Many know about Jesus, but less actually KNOW Jesus. Let’s start to change that today.

Even if this post only reaches one person and it prompts them to seek Jesus, it will be a victory.

Sort:

“Saved people serve, so that the served can become saved.” Amen.
