They said to him, “Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?” He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.” ~Matthew 19: 7-9
AND
Hebrews 13:4
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
It is clear that God hates divorce. Christ is LOVE. And we are to be like Christ and to LOVE.
Romans 12: 9-12
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Does true love grow faint even amidst unfaithfulness? No. It should hold fast still. Love "endures all things". We should endure as Christ endured for us on that cross.
Choose LOVE..
Yes God hates divorce and I think Michal wasn't a real follower of God when she divorced King David to marry another man, but clearly King David's marriage to Ahinoam after being divorced by his first wife, was not adultery but a valid marriage.
