During this holiday season the first thing that comes to my mind is this beautiful "nochebuena" flower that blooms only in Mexico during the month of December.
The story goes like this (my mom used to explained me) it came from a legend that a young girl was on her way to church and didn't have any gifts to take there to honour baby Jesus. So, on the way there she started collecting weeds, but they turned to red beautiful flowers once she got there. So basically, the main thing was to "inspire giving a gift during Christmas that comes from the heart". Since then, these flowers bloomed on that side of the road only for Christmas.
My family still have them in their garden and they only bloom during this season. They always looks stunning and I can't wait to be there again for this Christmas,
It is said to be a Mexican Symbol for Christmas for the holidays. <3
