What is Christmas? And Why is it Under Seige?

in #christmas6 years ago (edited)

What is Christmas?

If you look into it too deeply, you end up with nothing.
Basically, just celebrating the winter solstice.

Which, in itself is a fine thing to celebrate, but everything else is gone... poof.

Why has Christmas come under attack?
It is not just the anti-christians, but so many other forces all trying to do away with it.

So, what are T.H.E.Y. trying to get rid of?

If you look at the birth and death of Iesus Christ, you can tell that it follows the stars.
Solar Mythology of Jesus Christ

Everything from being born in Bethlehem (the house of bread, which is another name for Virgo, the virgin) to him having 12 disciples (12 houses, 12 zodiacs). The whole thing lines up, including Dec 25th. (on Dec 22 the Sun, of God, reaches its lowest point sitting on the Southern Cross and stays there for 3 days. On the 25th, the sun moves north) There is not a piece of Iesus' story that doesn't correlate with the stars.

Then again, you will find this same story over and over again. In many ancient and holy texts. The only thing that seems different is the name.

But, we all know that history repeats itself. And, if you study Buddhism, you know that the masters come back to teach again.

Then we have St. Nick, which seems to be a combining of stories about a few Catholic saints, and northern tribal shaman.

The red and white mushrooms... to help one fly during the winter months.
All strung up on string around a pine tree... to dry in order to preserve and increase potency.

Coming down the chimney... well, because the entire house was buried under snow.

Even reindeer are intertwined in these stories. The pieces are many. The stories are varied, but all flow around a theme.

But, none of them are really "christmas"

So, why has this holiday of cheer and good will towards men become the favorite thing to attack by, what seems to be, everyone?

It is so bad in America that in many places you fear to say "Merry Christmas". There is even a song that says, "I can't say Merry Christmas, so i guess i will say Feliz Navidad..."

What are T.H.E.Y. trying to get rid of?

Why must we give up so much, that is only trappings, but is meaningful to the people who grew up with it?

Is it that goodness must be stomped out everywhere it is found?

Or maybe it is the children of broken homes, where the single mother threw the man out of the home. These children who never had a family, and had no real meaning behind Christmas. Only bittersweet experiences where they got to see dad for a few hours of very tense time. No real joy. No real connection. Nothing to fondly remember.

Whatever it is, Christmas has received attacks from all sides. I am surprised that Christmas Trees are still allowed to be sold in Kalifornia. And so, i do not know what will be the future of Christmas.

We will see the holiday disappear?
What do you all think?

Christmas will always be Christmas. It started long ago and its still here up to these years. There is still a lot of people who celebrates and will still be celebrating Christmas the next coming of years. For me, it wont disappear because Christmas will be forever in our hearts. Merry Christmas @builderofcastles.

I detest xmas - because it is all about buying shit made by slaves for people. I like to get together with my friends all the time and not save it for some commercialized holidays created by the dark occult overlords usurping astrotheology. I have noticed that people get meaner around xmas - on the street, in stores, on the road - it sucks. So yes, i hope it goes away - and we could go back to the truth - it's the winter solstice. And we could celebrate the return of the light - and give presents and sing songs and be united as one human family - not religionist bullshit.

Xmas has been a time of disruption. If you wanted something at a store, at the mall, i would think about whether i could put off the purchase until January.

I used to put lots of effort into the season, actually buying wrapping paper and gifts at after christmas sales and keeping them perfect for a year. And then, i just got nothing back from it.

So, the joy went away, and the angry people trying to get to the mall got in the way.
It is not a happy time for me.

exactly! I totally agree. The next step is to be happy in spite of the commercialism. But still not participate.

I feel that many people are doing just such... as witnessed by so many stores closing. Or, all the remaining stores being desperate and putting up christmas stock before Thanksgiving. (which is holiday with an even shittier past)

Happy Festivus.

The red and white mushrooms... to help one fly during the winter months.

...I knew I was on target with the penguins pushing the LSD tabs!!!
lol.

In The US, those penguins wear "black suits".

Shit , penguins in disguise..it's worse than I thought...

Merry Christmas, enjoy the vote!

For real? there are ones who don't want xmas?? But i think it would be hard to get rid of it. Some rrligions dont celebrate it but not anti it. Christmas has always been a tradition , a lovely tradition that unites people . Merry Xmas! 😊

Yes, for real.
In The US, nativity scenes have been taken out of town holiday displays... because of "separation of church and state".

People getting fired for saying "Merry Christmas", because someone complained.

and more.

It should be OUTLAWED like it used to be in America and England. The war on Christmass was started by Christians and that is who should be at forefront of calling for it's rejection today but the majority of Christians do anything the can to defend the leaven.

I do not agree with the term "outlawed", but i understand where you are coming from.

Outlawing something is just stupid. Because those that are going to do it, are going to do it, no matter what the law says, and often, to spite the law. When we want something to be gone, we just ignore it until it dies its own death.

And the christians should read their bible. You reap what you sow.
