Christmas came early this year when a host of characters from Dicken's novels paraded through my hometown of Rochester in Kent. There was even a snow machine to recreate the spirit of Christmas!
The day ended with carol singing outside the castle walls and a candle lit parade. This is what the tradition of Christmas is all about - peace, goodwill and children (and grown ups) enjoying the simple things in life.
