It's a very close time for a festival that people all over the world are waiting for, Christmas day, a happy time on the night of 25 December 2024…..
Even though most Thai people are not Christians, this festival is also popular in Thailand as well. Many Thai people are eagerly looking forward to celebrating Christmas Day.
On Christmas Day, the occasion of Jesus's birth, some Thai people would love to make merit at the temples or donate things and clothes to poor people. We believe that, apart from making ourselves happy on this great day, the recipient will also be happy as well.
In addition, some Thai people would go to do some fun, exciting or cozy activities with their loved ones or family members.
Some Thai people decorate their houses or their companies with Christmas trees with green and red decorations and twinkling lights to match with the Christmas festival as well.
It’s said that red means love through the blood of Jesus on the cross and means the love and faith of Christians towards Jesus. The red fruit from the Christmas tree is used as a symbol. Green means liveliness and hope, using the Christmas trees as a symbol.
Besides, the Christmas trees are decorated with various props such as socks and ornamental balls.
The joyful season is about to begin. There will be festivals to celebrate and welcome Christmas-New Year. Many department stores and other places in Thailand are decorated with lights, beautiful Christmas trees. It’s a photogenic atmosphere and worth taking photos for good memories.
Landmarks will be at various places, in front of many famous department stores, including Central World, Siam Paragon, Icon Siam, and many other places that are holding events during the Christmas 2024 festival.
For me, I do not get the opportunity to visit there, these photos I took were at Lotus Department Stores nearby my house. It’s just a small corner, but it can make me feel excited during the Christmas festival. I am looking forward to Christmas Day.
Merry Christmas to all of you….
Greetings @tangmo ,
What a delightful post...thank you for the lovely description of Christ-mas celebration and cheery photographs from your country.
The gift giving tradition is to remind us that God the Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ to provide the gift of Salvation which promises eternal life with God forever.
The verse from the Bible that summarises what you have said in your post beautifully is ...found in Romans 5.8
..But God demonstrated His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died as a substitute for us. and in John 3.16....'For you see, God loved the world (mankind) so much, that He gave His uniquely born Son (Jesus Christ) so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.'...and Ephesians 2.8&9...'For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is a gift from God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.'
Thank you @tangmo for this lovely post. ^__^
Greetings to the two Kitties...
Happy Christ-mas to you and yours,
