What are your TOP 3 Christmas movies?

in #christmas8 years ago

Merry Christmas, everyone! Who doesn't enjoy spending the holidays with a few of their favorite films? I know I do! Please feel invited to respond to my post with your own list of your greatest movies and share it with us.

Honestly, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) is the film I always make sure to watch but the reason I'm not including it on my list is just because these next three have something in common. All three of these movies listed below are ones in which the main character is being faced with a "wake up call" putting his life back into perspective.

1. It's a Wonderful Life (1946)

In this movie, the main character is a person you'd enjoy being around, unlike the next two. He is shown in a spiritual walkthrough the condition of his hometown and the path taken by his loved ones in the circumstance he had never existed. Anyone who questions if he holds value in the world around him must watch this eye opener.

2. A Christmas Carol (2009)

This movie is an animation of Charles Dickens' novella written in 1843 about the life of Ebenezer Scrooge. This bitter old man gets a wake up call of his own, but not to see how much better off the people around him are with him in it, like the first guy. He learns (by a spiritual experience like the first movie) how much misery he brings to the town with his attitude towards others. He must prove to those around him his change of heart to earn their forgiveness and restore a positive memory of himself once his life has passed. This movie will make you think twice about bringing hate to the dinner table this Christmas.

3. Eight Crazy Nights (2002)

This movie is similar to the previous movie, not just because it is also an animation, but because this guy also a prick. This movie written by Adam Sandler, who is also the voice of the main character, is a wonderful movie for anyone who has had a past which ruins Christmas for him. The man in this movie decides he must ruin Christmas for everyone else too, but eventually the love of a caring couple who want to only bring him joy begins to grow on him and he, like our previous example, sees how his own attitude is ruining the holidays for him. So if you know any Christmas haters, please treat them with genuine kindness so that maybe they too can begin to associate this time with the way you treated them.

As you can see, the holidays are a time for growing and reshaping our lives. Don't spend these holidays without making an effort to do so for the better!
